This ’48 truck is a rare find half ton that is unmolested, but had some systems upgraded to drive locally.
It has a complete new brake system from master to shoes. New radiator and new heater hoses, 6 volt pressure fuel regulator, new plugs, 6 volt starter solenoid, ignition switch, starter push button, and ignition coil, plus a new exhaust system, and seat cover. The fuel tank was cleaned and a new fuel line installed. I added some decent tires, and a new sheet steel bed floor.
The carb was just rebuilt and I was told the previous owner had the engine rebuilt less than ten thousand miles ago (and looks like it).
The truck has original paint and lots of patina which could be left the way it is and used as a daily driver or repaired and painted. In my opinion with the improvements this truck is a local driver, but still needs upgrading and repairs like new glass, accessories and upgrades, or a complete restoration. It does have a few rusted body areas that later should be addressed. It has the original weights in the box and the original road flairs on the side.
It was a basically a two owner truck. The first owner was a utility company that sold it to an employee that used the truck while working there. When he retired he bought the truck for his personal use and used it as a daily driver until 2003, then inherited and sold to me very soon after. It was parked in his garage and when he passed away. This truck is Farm Fresh to the core with only repairs and upgrades to get it on the road. It would be cool restored, chopped and modified, or kept in driver condition.
Buyer to pay for shipping, however I will assist in loading.
