Description

You know, theres just something about a car that thundered off Detroits assembly lines, slugged it out at stop lights for years, and finally ended up as an all-steel Christmas tree conqueror that inspires a cult-like following. And while some of us openly admit our tendency to be overly nostalgic, wed certainly pick something like this killer Chevy Camaro over a 300 MPH, nitro-fueled Funny Car any day of the week. See, as awesome as those Funny Cars are, the core of their movement started about 35 years ago when a few brave gearheads mixed racing components with street cars and, in addition to enjoying forehead-flattening acceleration, spawned a whole new segment of hot rodding. Pro Street, which loosely translates to going fast and looking good doing it, eventually began to take off; and today, rebuilding an older, high mileage car into a custom fabricated speed machine has become a form of automotive art. Reborn roughly seven years ago, and made meaner every winter since, this sinister 67 Camaro is built to earn money at the track and win trophies at the expo. Are you looking for sheer performance, an unbeatable showpiece or just a cool car to own and enjoy? Forget spending three years and over $200K on a ground-up project, just call your friends at RK Motors Charlotte and become the proud new owner of this magazine-featured F1!

Admit it, when you see a badass bowtie pony car with a giant hood and giant rear tires, all is right with the world; at least for the five seconds the car takes to roar out of sight. And what better way to make a classic bowtie even more appealing than wrapping it in a stunning coat of high quality paint? This Camaros solid body panels are straight steel pieces that display excellent fit and world-class finish, and its high quality paint is a brilliant coat of custom Burgundy Glasurit which reflects a glossy, wet-look shine. While that unbeatable combination is the product of a professional, $200K plus restoration which was officially completed in the spring of 2005, each winter the car gets trucked back to East Coast Muscle Cars in Wrightsville, Pennsylvania to be freshened up with a few new parts and some high quality T.L.C. The result is one very well done pavement scorcher thats been built and maintained to exacting specifications thanks to a great combination of skilled workmanship and first-rate detailing!

When it comes to purity of form, I really cant think of a better looking car than the first generation Camaro. Its a simple and straightforward design that continues to age exceptionally well, especially in the company of its extroverted and exaggerated competitors. At the front of this super cool strip cruiser a stainless trimmed egg crate grille hangs Rally Sport-exclusive headlights above a clean front valence thats equipped with Rally Sport-exclusive marker lights. At the top of that grille a six inch Glasstek cowl induction hood props custom black flames in front of lightly tinted glass, fresh stainless trim and body-matched drip rails. Below that modified hood, the cars profile presents a smooth, monochromatic appearance thats only interrupted by a chrome bowtie mirror and traditional chrome door handles. And at the back of that vintage profile, new 67 Camaro-exclusive tail lights hang above a narrowed, tucked and painted bumper and clear, Rally Sport-exclusive reverse lamps. Thats it. The basic design of this Camaros body is meant to be the focal point of your attention. You wont find any of the large jewelry or loud graphics that seem to be so common on most of todays restorations; and thats certainly not a bad thing!

A one handed hoist of the cars lightweight hood reveals a tweaked 434 cubic inch small block Chevrolet V8 which began life as a run-of-the-mill 400, now makes roughly 600 horsepower, and is currently 100% detailed for show! At the top of that cool-running block, a flame-branded RaceCrafters fuel injection system funnels fresh air and high octane race fuel into a custom sheetmetal intake thats been fully chromed from front to back. Below that intake custom, flame-branded valve covers and 1.75 inch, ceramic coated Hooker Super Competition headers frame a brutal, yet reliable, JE stroker kit. At the back of that kit, an MSD 6AL ignition system sends fire through high quality Accel Hi Temp plug wires. In front of those wires, a full set of billet pulleys spin a flashy chrome alternator opposite a fully polished power steering pump. And in front of that power steering pump a polished Ron Davis radiator, which is equipped with two 31x19 inch Ron Davis electric puller fans, sends water through chrome flex hoses with the help of a polished electric water pump. While this newly freshened mills main purpose is to go straight at a very high rate of speed, it still has a lot of impressive eyeball appeal. Great looking dress up pieces such as a polished SSBC master cylinder, braided hoses, chrome accessories and a slick set of Detroit Speed Engineering hood supports add show-worthy details. And flawless Burgundy Glasurit, which perfectly matches the engines glossy, burgundy block, flows in from the cars exterior panels onto a smoothed firewall, clean inner fenders and a modified core support.

Underneath this rock-solid Camaro youll find a no compromises drivetrain that perfectly complements over-restored, body-matched floorpans and a long roster of serious race equipment. Behind the big bore engine a GM Turbo-Hydramatic 350 3-speed automatic transmission, which was built to spec by Edwards Performance Transmission in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, utilizes a manual valve body, a 5,000 RPM stall converter and a high performance auxiliary cooler to execute quick, efficient shifts and wheel stand inducing launches. Behind that transmission, a four inch aluminum driveshaft spins a stalwart Dana 60 rear end thats equipped with asphalt busting 5.13 gears. Holding that awesome transmission off the ground is a smoothed front subframe which hangs narrowed Fat Man tubular control arms and Carrera coil over shocks at the sides of a Detroit Speed Engineering 600 steering box. Holding that awesome rear end off the ground is a custom back half which makes good use of 44 inch tubs, stretched wheel wells, a custom ladder bar suspension and Aldan coil over shocks. And holding all that track-ready hardware off the ground is a sweet set of 15 inch Billet Specialties wheels which spin 25x7.50 Hoosier Pro Street radials in front of 33x22.50 Hoosier Quick Time drag tires. Naturally, that impressive drivetrains momentum is countered by an equally impressive Aerospace Components four wheel disc brake system that hangs billet, four-piston calipers over four drilled and slotted rotors. The engines massive Hooker headers flow into a vicious sounding four inch exhaust system that sends spent gases through welded, single chamber mufflers to side exit pipes that are tucked under clearanced rocker panels. And everything from this Camaros custom stainless transmission lines to its custom floor pans and custom inner fenders is fully sorted and ready to pound the pavement!

Inside this cool first generation F-Body youll find a clean and inviting interior thats a nice combination of quarter mile safety features and open road conveniences. During the restoration a 10 point, tig-welded Chromalloy roll cage, which is built to 8.5 second specifications, was installed around gray Ultraleather Fiero bucket seats and heavy duty MR three-point racing harnesses ...For more information please call the seller.
