Description

Built by Boyd Coddington on "American Hot Rod" for the 50th Anniversary celebration of O'Reilly Auto Parts. Featuring Art Morrison frame with Jerry Kugel independent suspension and a GM Performance aluminum LS2 440hp crate engine with TH400 transmission. This 1957 Boyd Coddington-built Bel Air is one-of-a-kind. In 1957, Charles Francis and Charles "Chub" O'Reilly founded O'Reilly Auto Parts. As part of its 50th Anniversary celebration, Boyd Coddington was commissioned to build a unique commemorative classic. In true Boyd style, he created a Special Edition '57 Chevy Bel Air and named it the "Chubster". It is built on a custom Art Morrison frame with Jerry Kugel front and rear independent suspension. It is powered by a GM Performance all aluminum LS2 crate engine that puts out 440hp at the rear tires. It is backed up by a Toy Shop TH400 transmission. Rolling on a set of one-off Coddington wheels and Goodyear Eagle tires. Paint is DuPont Hot Hues Chroma system custom mixed by Boyd himself. He called it Chubster Red. Custom interior by Gabe Lopez. Ron Frances wiring, custom white face gauges with "Chubster" engraved on them, Flaming River tilt steering with column shift, Vintage Air with defrost, power windows with power vent glass. Comes with a 1 of 5 Team Killeen build book. Boyd Coddington was one of the greatest American Hot Rod builders ever. This is one of the last cars he ever built. If you are seriously interested in this vehicle I suggest your purchase the BUILD BOOK #4 for 202 detailed pages of this build, for additional pictures from myself please contact me….nick
