The Shelby GT500KR arrived in spring 2008 in an exclusive run of only 1000 units. Celebrating the fortieth anniversary of the original Shelby Cobra GT500KR, Ford and Shelby collaborate on a new 'King of the Road' Mustang with the 2008 Shelby GT500KR. The Shelby GT500KR featured an estimated 540-hp 5.4-liter supercharged V-8 with a Ford Racing Power Upgrade Pack, 3.73:1 rear axle ratio, short-throw shifter, and unique suspension tuning. Just like its 1968 namesake, the 2008 Ford Shelby GT500KR builds on the strong foundation of the Shelby GT500. In 2008, packing 40 more horses under its custom-designed carbon composite hood, the GT500KR was the most powerful production Ford Mustang ever produced at the time. Exterior design draws inspiration from the classic Shelby KR Mustangs and features unique carbon composite hood, wheels, and special 40th Anniversary badging and unique striping. Each KR model is identified by special 40th Anniversary KR badges on the fenders and grille, distinctive body colored mirror caps and Shelby lettering stretching across the front of the hood and along the rear portion of the deck lid. A special Shelby number tag is affixed to each vehicle, mounted in the engine compartment. The car you see here is number 120 or those 1,011 built and is still as new as you will find. With window stickers and carpet mat's still affixed, the car currently shows only 29.1 miles. To our knowledge, this is the lowest mileage Shelby 500KR currently available for sale. The car comes finished in the rarest of all the colors produced, blue, which only 100 cars were finished in. The all-leather interior features Carroll Shelby signature embroidered headrests and an official Shelby CSM 40th Anniversary GT500KR dash plate mounted at the top of the center stack showing the individual CSM serial number. The black leather interior looks great and still has the protective mats on the carpet. The 540 horsepower, 5.4 liter supercharged V8 is a monster and will propel this car down the road like a rocket.
