The original grille remains, and was painted the same pearl white as the upper body, while for functionalitys sake, the running boards were restored with new rubber. Turn signals have been neatly integrated into the headlight stanchions, and even the original taillights remain in place. A simple yellow pinstripe separates the two colors, adding a dash of contrast and tying it all together quite neatly. All the chrome was restored to show levels, and tinted glass gives it a smooth look that helps keep things cool inside. And speaking of the inside, it features a pair of buckets from a late-model Ford, using two-tone leatherette and custom-made door panels to give it a contemporary look. The original dash was smoothed and filled, then fitted with pretty VDO gauges that are suitably vintage-looking for 1935. A/C was added using eyeball vents integrated into the lower dash, and an AM/FM/CD stereo provides entertainment for those long cross-country cruises. Gray carpets, a custom headliner, and a tilt column add to the high-quality feel inside, and the use of factory components gives it a very OEM feel on the road. With this level of comfort, youll look forward to every opportunity to slide behind the wheel, and unlike so many rods, it really is a no-compromises car. Theres even a large, fully upholstered trunk to carry a weeks worth of luggage. Under all that chrome and polished aluminum theres a GM Vortec crate motor that provides effortless power and a great V8 soundtrack. Painless Wiring supplied the harness so its reliable, and careful assembly ensures that its always ready to rock. A big aluminum radiator and electric fan ensure cool running under all conditions, with all the accessories tucked in tight to the block so the original hood vents can do their job properly. Underneath, youll find a polished and painted chassis with tons of chrome, including the front A-arms and springs. A stainless exhaust system with Flowmasters gives it its distinctive sound, while a 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission gives it impeccable highway manners. Billet wheels are just the right size, wearing 215/70/14 front and 255/70/15 rear tires that provide an awesome rake.
