Description

All trades considered. Hold on there. Yes, this is a Ford Falcon. Yes, it was not Ford's performance king in the 1960s. But wow does this car have a lot to offer. To begin, this 1968 model is remarkably solid and as rust-free a car as you will find. It is remarkably clean top to bottom with a total of 72,000 miles (obviously a low number for a 44-year-old car; I recently sold a 2007 model with twice this amount). All panels are nice and straight with excellent gaps, and the recent Rio Red paint really fits the car well. The interior has been completely redone in black leather and looks fantastic. Everything was profesionally done and is of high quality. The bench front seat is surprisingly comfortable. All gauges work properly, as do the wipers and horn. I think the falcon-shaped high-beam indicator is kind of neat. There is a column tach and set of underdash gauges too, along with a modern stereo. While the interior and exterior are exceptional, the highlight of this car has to be its 351 Cleveland engine. It is a high performance setup built with a 4-bolt block and Cobra Jet heads that have been ported and polished. It also runs domed Speed Pro pistons and a Lunati 290/300 cam. Other highlights include an Offenhauser intake, Holley 750 carb with electric choke, and Ford electronic ignition. Additional performance parts include high volume oil, fuel, and water pumps and an aluminum fan. The engine has excellent power and idles smoothly at 800 rpm. Backing this stout engine is a Ford C6 automatic with a 2,800 rpm torque converter and reverse manual valve body controlled by a Hurst Promatic 2 shifter (very nice). The rear end is of course a Ford 9" with 3.91 gears and traction bars. The car also has disc brakes in front for upgraded stopping power. The exhaust uses Hedman headers feeding a dual 2.75" Flowmaster setup (yes it sounds great). Wheels are 15" Keystone Classics with BF Goodrich tires, all in excellent shape. Also included are many receipts and a build sheet. This is the perfect ride for someone who wants something clean, fast, and different. You don't see many third generation Falcons out there, and you will almost never see one like this.
