The American muscle car was born in the 1960s, but was still alive and well in the early 1970s, when Ford was turning out high horsepower and performance inspired cars, such as its 1972 Mustang Fastback coupe.
Finished in eye-catching Bright Blue Metallic, and powered by a new 351C CID engine with a four barrel carburetor, ram air induction and dual exhaust, this car has the brawn to match its sporty looks. Its engine, which was punched out 60 over and has a performance cam, has only 3,000 miles. The engine is mated to a SelectShift transmission that functions as a clutchless manual, allowing for complete driver control. It has 3.77:1 gears in the rear end, but a 4.56:1 rear end will also be included with sale. Previously raced, this car ran low 11s in the ¼ mile.
The most recent owner acquired this Mustang eight years ago from its original owner and undertook its complete restoration, including the following:
High quality repaint in original color
New seats, including padding, springs, and vinyl
New door linings
New carpeting
New mirrors
New rims and tires
New package tray
Rebalancing of drive shaft
Transmission/rear end rebuilt
New ignition
Now having just 87,000 miles on its body, this car was always properly stored indoors since being restored.
A few items of note are that the radio and horn do not currently work. Additionally, although the car was originally equipped with air conditioning, it is no longer with the car. Also of note is that the rocker panel trim on the passenger’s will be reinstalled prior to delivery. In addition, the dash pad has some minor cracks, but a new dash pad will be included with sale, as will several other spare parts.
