If you want luxury you found it. When a wealthy businessman needed to cruise around town he didnt hop in his Mustang or 55 Chevy. He got into something that looked much more like an Excalibur, Gatsby, Spartan, or Archer. Havent heard of these manufacturers? Well thats just a testament to how rare they really are! Even your classic car guru buddies will have a tough time picturing an Archer if you tell them about it. Thats why you need to see this car to believe it! The long sloping fenders, ribbed side exhaust, spoke fender mounted wheels, and front chrome horns are just a few of the features that make this car what it is. If you thought Cobra and 32 kit cars were a new thing say hello to where they came from. People love customs so even in the 70s and 80s unique kits were being manufactured, but their quality is a little different then how they are today. The Archer kit alone cost over $18,000.00 not including 2 donor cars, drive train, assembly, etc. Instead of a fiberglass body and various other parts being thrown together these utilized all solid steel body mated up to a vintage 1974-79 Fiat Spider. The distinctive appearance of the Archer is achieved through the highest quality heavy duty, expertly crafted fiberglass fenders, hood and body panels. Looking at it that way the only real difference from these cars and the other manufacturers is that Archer didnt want to produce their own chassis and drivetrain. Instead they focused on the look and luxury of the rest and engineered an entire new car to fit over an already made skeleton. What they came up with went on to win awards and 1st place trophies for design. This classic 1988 Archer Cabriolet provides the look of a Duesenberg without that million dollar price tag. It is coated in White pearl and has a great shine. The front and rear bumpers have an awesome shine along with all the other chrome you find on this classic. The spare wheels have Burgundy covers which match the top perfectly and are in good condition. Other unique features include the chrome front mounted fog lights and the rear luggage tray. The Modine 347 radiator keeps the car running cool at all times and will never let you down. The automatic 350 transmission shifts very nicely and in perfect timing. This car truly is a joy to drive and gets tons of attention. The coil springs in front and air shocks in rear along with the Chrysler leaf springs provide a nice smooth ride with no problems.
