1969 Jaguar E-Type Roadster
This is a “matching numbers” motorcar. The chassis number, body number, engine, and transmission all match the numbers stamped into the original data plate. Finished in Dark Blue and trimmed with the very best Tan Connolly Leather and Wilton Wool carpet interior.
It has been upgraded to 2" SU Carbs which were original to the early S1 cars which makes it very responsive and very, very fast.
Most all items on the car are original and correct to this rare motorcar other that the upgrade to the carbs.
The body is laser straight, including the inner and outer sills, the floors including the boot floor, are all outstanding and original to the car. The frame rails, picture frame, and bonnet are straight, as shown in the photos.
Everything on the car works just as it left the factory, yes including the clock.
Some cars drive good, some drive GREAT and some not so good, This is one of the "GREAT ONES", not just good but great.
Fit, Finish & Paint:
It has a Laser straight body, beautiful chrome & stainless as also shown in the photos, the car is as pristine today as the day it was delivered new.
Interior:
The interior is finished in Tan English Connolly Leather, Wilton Wool Carpeting, etc., and is correct in every way. The top is finished in the correct Faun Canvas and is flawless.
Engine:
The engine runs Suburb, with correct oil pressure at both speed and idle, 20 lbs. at idle when at temp and 50+ at speed. The valves have been adjusted to factory specifications as well as the carbs by a factory trained engineer.
All gauges and switches are original, fully functional and in correct working order.
Fuel Tank:
The fuel tank is original with an original fuel pump.
Overall:
This car is in very fine collector condition inside & out.
The Series 2 added many improvements to the drive-ability, these included:
upgraded engine to a 4.2-liter
upgraded & improved synchromesh gearbox
increased cooling system capacity
enlarged cockpit
better sealing convertible top.
The Jaguar E-Type has earned its status as one of the most attractive sports cars ever, When the XKE debuted Enzo Ferrari called it "The most beautiful car ever made", today the E-Type continues to be recognized as the Top Sports car from the 60"s, today it is featured in the permanent collection at the New York City Museum of Modern Art.
The shape is low and sleek and stands as one of automotive design's all time greats.
I have over 100 photos of the car, not just the areas that everyone will show you, but all of the areas that you never get to see, the bottom, suspension, wheels, rockers, engine top to bottom, every gap & fit of each body panel.
