Description

One of the best things about working at RK Motors Charlotte is, just when you think youve seen it all an innovative collector or cutting-edge company rolls a car through the doors that literally blows your mind. When this spectacular 1965 Cobra rumbled into the showroom our busy marketing staff thought it was just another one of Superformances top-notch dream machines, but one quick glance under its hood revealed just how right AND wrong we all were. YES, this all-new, never-titled hot rod is certainly some of the firms best work; and its sure to make one lucky car guy extremely giddy. NO, its not just another brash and moody small block replicar; its actually one of the first MK III chassis to be fitted with Fords hot 5.0 liter Coyote V8! So, if youre one of the many enthusiasts whos been longing for the perfect combination of OEM reliability and classic good looks, its time to stop wishing and start dialing!

As the only Shelby licensed replica of the original 1965 Cobra, this roadsters virtually flawless Superformance MK III body utilizes high quality, hand laminated fiberglass to create a rock solid drop top that provides a first-rate driving experience. The cars stiffly reinforced body panels feature the smooth surfaces and typically tight panel gaps weve come to expect from top tier Cobra replicas; and its excellent fit and finish is a testament to Superformances OEM-quality materials and talented technicians. Not many customs strike a perfect balance of outrageous looks, serious performance and excellent attention to detail. But this Cobras combination of contemporary build techniques, timeless Indigo Blue paint and traditional white racing stripes creates an irresistible curve carver thatll keep onlookers marveling for hours on end!

And speaking of attention to details, they are often the downfall of an otherwise excellent build. Not so with this roadster as every aspect of Superformances perfected design enhances both the cars style and appeal. Up front, a paint-shielded nose hangs bright new headlights above chrome trimmed, bullet-style parking lights and traditional satin black quick lifts. At the sides of those quick lifts, mesh filled vertical grilles border a massive radiator opening; and at the top of those quick lifts, a smooth fiberglass hood props a small scoop between traditional rivets and brand new locking hood latches. At the top of the car, a black canvas top latches down over a chrome drivers side roll bar and a new Superformance branded windshield which is trimmed in chrome, cleared by bright 2-speed wipers and bordered by a full set of sun visors and wind wings. At the sides of the car, ceramic coated side pipes hang below functional, finned aluminum air extractors, a chrome bullet-style racing mirror and a traditional Monza-style fuel filler. And at the back of the car, chrome trimmed tail lights combine with a chrome tag light to illuminate a traditional locking trunk handle and a second pair of factory fresh quick lifts.

An eyeball popping presence is only part of this slick MK III Cobras excellent appeal; it also does a very good job of going fast and making a lot of noise! Looking completely natural between the cars body-matched fenders and fully finished firewall is a state of the art DOHC Ford Motorsport 5.0 liter mod motor thats rated at pavement scorching 412 horsepower and a hefty 390 lb./ft. of torque. Officially named the Coyote motor, and officially found in the engine bay of the 2012 Mustang GT, this aluminum rocket utilizes redesigned cylinder heads, 32 light weight valves, variable valve timing, a long runner single scroll intake, a direct mount throttle body, a forged steel crank, forged steel connecting rods and oil-cooled hypereutectic pistons to create a stout 11 to 1 compression ratio and a 7,000 RPM redline. At the top of the engine, a Ford throttle body mixes wind from a polished BBK air induction system with dino juice from a Ford electronic fuel injection system. At the sides of the engine, breathing is optimized by ceramic coated Superformance headers. And at the front of the engine, cooling is supplied by an aluminum single-core high performance radiator which is equipped with dual electric fans and a stainless steel surge tank. The smooth powerplant is tidy with Powered by Ford cam covers and a nicely detailed 5.0 fuel rail cover concealing most of its factory silver block. And the race inspired engine bay, topped by a Indigo Blue fiberglass hood, is clean of any extraneous wires, hoses and bolt-ons.

One of the best things about buying any high quality replica is the modern hardware underneath. Fully sorted and completely detailed, this brand new Cobras Superformance heavy wall Jig welded frame and fully independent suspension are ready to take on the toughest track you can find! Behind the cars slick Ford engine, a Quick Time bellhousing frames a durable Tremec TKO600 5-speed transmission which utilizes a McLeod clutch and a hydraulic throw-out bearing to spin a race-quality limited slip differential and stout 3.45 gears. At the corners of the car, vented Wilwood power four-wheel disc brakes combine with premium custom crafted coil over shocks to provide better stopping and increased grip. At the ends of the car, thick sway bars combine with manual rack and pinion steering to improve both ride and handling. Power flows to the ground through 15 inch pin drive Halibrand style wheels which wear reliable 255/60 front and 295/50 rear Goodyear Eagle GTII performance radials. And everything from this Cobras wiring to its pressure tested 17 gallon Superformance fuel tank is brand new, completely modern and ready to transform your sedate Saturday into a road course war theater!

Cobra interiors have always been simple, and even though this car ratchets its appeal up with a few custom touches, its purist nature still shines like a fresh coat of wax on its bright blue fenders. The black German specification leather seats are firm, look as good as new and feature original style latch-lock seatbelts for increased safety. In front of those seats, the blue and white topped dash, which is covered in straight and tight vinyl trim, holds a full assortment of Smiths and Lucas gauges between a chrome Superformance rearview mirror, an optional Superformance locking glove box and switches for a standard issue heater/defroster. At the sides of the seats, traditional fiberglass Cobra doors have been fitted with leather map pockets, leather hinge covers and chrome door handles. And at the bottom of the seats new black carpet, which is protected by color-keyed Superformance floor mats, frames original-style foot pedals, a polished emergency brake handle and an original-style T-bar shifter. In front of the driver, an optional leather wrapped steering wheel is capped by a Superformance horn button; and behind the driver, a fully finished trunk includes a moderate recess which creates a surprisingly large amount of storage space

The sale of this awesome MK III Cobra includes a Manufacturers Statement of Origin, a small stack of Superformance paperwork that includes a bound owners manual, receipts for the cars killer Coyote powertrain, and an all-weather Superformance tonneau cover.

With its excellent body, killer engine and fully-sorted, track ready build, this badass Cobra provides an unmatched driving experience thats wrapped in spectacular good looks ...For more information please call the seller.
