Description

Really a sensational car done without regard to cost............flawless body and paint done by top restoration specialist, engine done by 7 time SCCA National champion Kent Prather, 5 speed Datsun 280ZX close ratio transmission, twin electric cooling fans, solid state ignition, slotted disc rotors, rebuilt calipers and everything else in the braking system, all suspension powder coated, new leather seats, new Wilton wool carpets, all rebuilt gauges, new stainless steel wire wheels, new wiring harness and all electrics, Ansa Stainless steel exhaust, a complete nut and boilt restoration to incredible standards. Whew. A $35,000+ restoration. Ridiculous? Maybe. But,, hey, some people love the 'rubber bumper look. And for someone who wants a mint, show condition, super high spec MGB....we can (and have, many times) convert this car to a proper chrome bumper 'look' with new bumpers, grille, lights, etc. And if one prefers, simply paint the bumpers in matching body color. AND Then an ever more incredible car. AND it is. Incredible. And priced at half its cost to do. Funny thing that whoever tuned this car last, well, didn't tune it very well. When it came in, the last owner thought it was absolutely perfect. But, the ignition timing was off by 10 degrees. FAR too much advance. We redid the weights inside the distributor, reset the timing and now? FAST yet with a smooth, even torque curve that starts with a very smooth idle and hits the red line quickly in every gear. Fantastic performance. In a truely fantastic one of a kind car. The last owner touted it as the 'best on the market' and if it isnt, it MUST be in the top .00001%. Never saw or drove an MGB like this. SO GOOD, all of our crew in the workshop have agreed....we don't hold the rubber bumpers against this one!
