Like all Ferraris, its signature element was the engine, returning to Ferraris roots with twelve cylinders but arrayed in Boxer fashion. A remarkable new body by Pininfarina was a clear departure from Pininfarinas earlier designs. The 1988 model presented here, finished in black paintwork over black leather accent trim and tan seating. The distinctive sinuous shape of the car was developed in Pininfarinas wind tunnel specifically to produce high-speed aerodynamic down force and features dramatic side strakes which channeled cooling air into the engines radiators located in front of the massive rear wheels.
