Description

A very clean original car....the kind you rarely find. A few small area of light plastic filler indicated on my 'magnet test' but nothing dreadful, incredibly good original rockers, no visible rust or repair underneath...a very solid body with very nice paint in pale primrose. Mostly new interior....seats, panels, carpets, new headliner, new replica of the original steering wheel, new seat belts. Dash pad is excellent and the dash contains all original switches, gauges, etc. Runs very well, excellent compression, 65 psi oil pressure, no smoke....engine fitted with 2 barrel side-draft Mikuni Solex carb (similar to a Weber), fitted with a late model all synchro trans, new front brakes, new rear springs and bushings, new heater core and valve, wire wheels look to be in very good condition, tube shock rear conversion, fairly new front shocks, front end and steering are nice and tight, new muffler, drives nicely, everything works....an early 'classic' MGBGT. And pre-1968 BGTs are hard to find....especially one such as this with an excellent floor pan. Cleaned, buffed and waxed, just got new bumpers, some new trim, minor detail work, and in the showroom....ready for sale. Last owner used this car for fairly regular transport including drives as far as 300 miles. Sold it to buy something bigger and newer. As with any of the MGBs we have in stock, we can offer this car with its original transmission, a rebuilt overdrive trans or a Ford T9 or Datsun 280ZX five speed transmission (kits for both are in stock). Add a high lift cam and some cylinder head work and a new owner can share what I have in my own MGBGT...ample power, 110mph+ top speed, great flexibility, and delightful higher speed cruising. These are fabulous and very useful classics...great for shopping (with the large luggage compartment and rear hatchback), still a fun sports car for afternoon country drives, and quiet and refined for distance driving. Also, VERY stylish.
