This killer 2001 Intimidator SS is 1 of 83 special edition dealership cars commissioned by NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt, built by GMMG and sold by Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet in Newton, North Carolina. Immaculately maintained, and driven only 48 miles in almost 11 years, it wraps GMs top option LS1 V8 and a stout Tremec 6-speed manual transmission in a modified, track-ready suspension and a roster of menacing appearance upgrades thatll have drivers anxiously monitoring their rearview mirrors. If youre a serious Camaro collector whos looking to pick up a unique piece of modern muscle, or a diehard Earnhardt fan thats always wanted to pilot a black and silver Chevrolet which was designed by The Intimidator himself, heres your chance!
Dale Earnhardt was the last of a vanishing breed of NASCAR drivers who would stop at nothing to win a race. His sheer tenacity and ability to bring a car through almost anything unscathed were a unique talent that resulted in his legacy as one of the most successful and recognizable motorsports icons of all time. Dale had been an F-body fan and collector since the age of 16 when he and his dad, famed short track racer Ralph Earnhardt, built a 67 Camaro race car. By 1986, he was enjoying big success in NASCARs top division and decided to open his own Chevrolet dealership in hopes of one day selling high performance showroom specials like his hero Don Yenko. Despite that ambitious plan it would take roughly 15 years, and some good-natured prodding from his son Kerry, to finally kick start the design of an OEM-quality, high performance dealership program. When Camaro executive Scott Settlemire, known by fans as The F-bod Father, got wind that Chevrolets most iconic driver wanted to build a direct Roush Mustang competitor, he facilitated a relationship with well-known F4 Camaro tuner GMMG. And in the summer of 2000, Dale introduced the mighty Intimidator SS.
Nicely equipped from the factory, all Intimidator SS Camaros rolled out the doors with every available regular production option except T-tops and traction control. Heres how Intimidator SS number 43s original window sticker breaks down:

Logging only 48 miles since it rolled off GMs Sainte Therese, Quebec assembly line and straight into former NASCAR president Mike Heltons garage, this awesome first generation Intimidator SS is an essentially new 11 year old car that has hardly seen the light of day, much less any inclement weather. Its GM code 41 Onyx Black paint presents an extra sinister presence thanks to an expertly applied Silver stinger stripe, which was Dales nod to former Chevrolet Specialty Vehicles director Jon Moss and his ZL1 Camaro show car; and naturally, its slick, showroom fresh fit and finish is as close to perfect as a factory car can get. Honestly, with so few miles on its odometer, this fresh Chevrolet just hasnt had the opportunity to get into any significant trouble on the street. There isnt a speck of road rash anywhere on its nose, and its rockers, devoid of teenage tire spinning battle wounds, are as clean and perfect as the day the car rolled out of Dales Newton, North Carolina showroom. In a world where the newest Camaro has inspired a renewed love affair with first generations cars, its nice to see a pristine F4 that is symbolic of the no-compromises big engine, all speed mindset that team Camaro championed for most of its existence.
The Intimidator was an unstoppable force who was a literal embodiment of the American dream to experience success against all odds. His determination and competitive nature, which manifested itself in a badass all-business demeanor, played a huge factor in the development and appearance of his signature Camaro. At the front of the car, one of the most aggressive Chevrolet faces ever introduced hangs factory fresh headlights above a heritage inspired grille, a traditional white SS emblem and high intensity fog lights. At the top of the car, a performance aiding hardtop rides above solid sealing windows and an original raked windshield which displays a large sequential serial number. At the sides of the car, pristine Intimidator SS cloisonnes hang above spotless black SS emblems which nicely complement optional body-matched door moldings, body-matched mirrors and flush fitting door handles ...For more information please call the seller.
