Description

Some hot rods were built by guys who simply get it. Theyre more than just a bunch of parts from a catalog, theyre cars that respect the vintage iron and the period in which they were built. This awesome 1940 Ford tudor sedan is such a car. Sure, it packs a sweet-running 351 under the hood and a cool paint job, but its the details that will blow you away. Preserving the original designs integrity was obviously top on the builders list, and all the wonderful details that Ford added to the car remain beautifully intact. The body has been restored to show standards, and is far straighter and smoother than anything coming out of a mass-production factory could possibly be. The paint is two-stage urethane that glows under the lights and outside, yet its also subtle and restrained without any flashy graphics to get in the way. Panel fit is exemplary, and its awesome to see that they even kept the running boards in place. The standard models used a variation of 1939s pointed grille with a slight downward pitch in the center, and its hard to imagine anything more handsome on the front of this teal tudor. All the stainless trim has been polished to show standards, the glass is new and there isnt a single aspect of this car that hasnt been polished, buffed, and tweaked to a very high level. The salute to tradition continues inside with a beautifully crafted interior that perfectly captures the style of the early 40s. The upholstery is Cadillac broadcloth material, stitched in patterns that are pure Art Deco sophistication. Subtlety is the key, but this is an interior that invites you in and convinces you to stay, and you could happily spend many thousands of miles behind the wheel. The instrument panel has been tastefully modified to hold an array of modern VDO analog gauges, and the center stack has both the AM/FM/CD stereo head unit and the controls and vents for the A/C system. Fords original uncluttered dash design remains intact, right down to the plain glove box door. In back, the trunk offers a space-saver spare, just in case. Rebuilt 12,000 miles ago, the 351 Windsor under the hood is a rare sight-a Ford in a Ford! Built with reliability in mind, its smooth, powerful, and easy to maintain, thanks to a 4-barrel carb. An upgraded ignition system, power steering and brakes, and some polished billet make it clear that someone cared about doing it right, and the fit is excellent. Underneath, there are disc brakes up front, an automatic overdrive transmission for easy cruising, and a 9-inch rear full of 3.25 gears, all neatly engineered to work without a fuss. The cool painted steel wheels with hubcaps and trim rings and wearing modest 15-inch blackwall radials are a brilliant touch, too! Theres not one part on this whole car that wasnt carefully planned and finished. If thats something you appreciate, this is your car. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom.
