Specifications

Manufacturer:JAGUAR

Model:XK 120 Alloy BodyInterior:BLUE

Exterior:SILVER

The Jaguar XK 120 was to be a prestigious vehicle and produced in low numbers. The designation 120 represented the vehicles top speed of 120 miles per hour. At the time it was the fastest production car built.

The British Auto industry took a hit after WWII many manufactures went out of business or had factories destroyed during the war. Williams Lyons owner of Jaguar set out to build a car thats was faster, more reliable , stylish , and cost effective to the public. Lyons designed the car and with his chief engineer and took on the task of configuring its mechanical component . The car was displayed at the Earls Court Show and the reception was overwhelming. Originally Lyons planned to build 100 maybe 200 XK 120s but with the reaction of the public the new Jaguar was a immediate success and the car went into streamlined production. The cars body was changed from an handbuilt all aluminum vehicle to a standard all steel production to keep up with public demand. Only 242 Alloy Jaguars were built and it is believed only about 50 have survived.

Powered by a 160hp 3.4Litre inline-six engine peak horsepower was peaked at 5000 and 120mph was the promised speed and the true top speed is reported at 126-132mph depending on trim of vehicle. We have driven this vehicle on several rallies in the past few years including (2) 1000 mile trips on the Colorado Grand and Completing the 1000 mile California Millie Miglia. The car performs excellent and would make a successful competitor in any driving event.

The vehicle is in show condition and worthy of a concours award. We have shown the vehicle at several Jaguar events and have won numerous times. Finished in a beautiful silver and is fitted with Blue Leather, includes top and tonneau cover . The vehicle has its original tool set and sits on a set of original full disc wheel covers with spats (fender skirts) we driven the vehicle often and replaced the tires with Correct Verdestain Radials.
