1992 Peterbilt Transporter VIN: 1XPDDR9X3ND606871 Purchased in 1998 by Canepa Concept Transporters, this rig was a ground up conversion of an excellent, one owner Peterbilt truck with 500k miles. The rig was stripped down, the frame stretched to a wheelbase of 280 inches, new high-speed rear ends installed and then the rebuilding began. The engine received a new camshaft and full service, the transmission was rebuilt, and the Jake brake refurbished. A new van body was installed and outfitted as a 4-car transporter to an extremely high level of finish. No expense was spared inside or out: A-C and heat in both the sleeper front and the van rear; air compressor system, high output diesel generator, full electrical 110v and 220v; lighting and tent system; reinforced roof with a 30 person capacity. The list goes on and on. Bruce Canepa then finished off the design with custom body panels and a show quality black paint job leaving the truck considerably more aerodynamic and certainly more attractive. Don Orosco has owned the vehicle since its build. In that time it has logged only 112k miles, was regularly maintained, and has always been stored indoors. The construction detailing of this rig is of the highest quality. To build such a truck today would cost in excess of $400k. This custom 4-car transporter presents tremendous value for the money. Don says of this amazing rig: Of the four transporters I have owned and used over the past thirty years, this is undoubtedly the easiest to use and most user friendly.
