Description

True, original Boss 302 from 1969! Very rare! Beautiful and upgraded tastefully to high standards! Excellent color combination (1 of only 44 produced)! Head-snapping performance! The manufactures series portion of SCCA racing was intense in the late-1960s. Ford was rather desperate to keep its sports car image, but needed some serious muscle to compete amongst the Camaro, Cuda, and Javelins in the Trans AM series. A design who handed down and production of the Boss 302 came to light in the 1969. Only minimal numbers trickled from the assembly line for dealer showrooms that year, but the success on the track led to four times the production in 1970. The Boss 302 was only in production for these two years and won the SCCA Trans AM Series Championship in both of them! We are delighted to offer this exceptionally rare 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 302 finished in rare Acapulco Blue with White Luxury interior! This brilliantly kept Boss 302 represents one of only 1,628 Boss cars produced in 1969 making them by far the most collectible and hardest to find on the open market. Many trade hands privately so this comes as a unique opportunity to a muscle car collector! This particular car has been treated to a form of race prep equal to what was likely found on the true Trans Am series car by way of suspension and power upgrades, but remain tame enough for comfortable street use. Please note, we would like to stress heavily that absolutely no body modifications were made in the process. There were no new welds, holes drilled, metal reshaped, or anything of the sort! All upgrades are bolt-on components to improve handling, chassis & engine strength, performance, and road feel! ALL ORIGINAL COMPONENTS WERE CATALOGED AND RETAINED TO RETURN THIS VEHICLE TO COMPLETELY STOCK SPECIFICATIONS AT ANY TIME! The majority of the upgrades to this car are listed below. Beginning with a date code correct 302ci V8 Boss 4-bolt main block, correct Cleveland Boss heads, and original Boss crank, the engine internals were replaced with Pro-Magnum rollers, HP rods, JE ceramic coated pistons, ceramic coated headers with port plates fitted, 3 exhaust system with performance mufflers and electric cut-outs, Aviad 302 racing oil pan, MSD ignition and distributor, Moroso racing style oil filter, Griffin aluminum radiator with built-in oil cooler, SFI harmonic balancer, aluminum pulleys, SFI approved flywheel, Lakewood scatter shield, Center Force clutch, it now produces power closer to the 450 horsepower region with rpms pushing a 7,000 redline! This Boss 302 came factory fitted with a 9 rear end featuring staggered shocks and optional 3.91:1 Traction-Lok gearing! Managing the power to the ground also meant improvements to the suspension. This car has bolt-in subframe connectors, Koni shocks with limiting straps, Chris Alton Chassis Works front monti carlo bar and strut braces, complete Global West tubular front upper & lower control arms, front sway bar, competition rear shackles, polyurethane bushings, and more! Braking performance was vastly improved with power a 4-wheel Wilwood disc brake conversion! This Mustang remains perfectly streetable for shows, tours, or weekend runs to the race track! The original close-ratio 4-speed transmission is included with the sale of this car, but the car now utilizes a 5-speed manual built by Astro Performance. This was a highly equipped Boss 302 featuring 15 Magnum 500 wheels, rear Sport slats, rear spoiler, sport mirrors, Deluxe interior, and optional limited slip 3.91:1 rear axle! It has added Stewart Warner tachometer, oil pressure, and temp gauge for better engine monitoring. The original dash clock was converted to quartz movement and works perfectly. No detail was overlooked to make sure this car was not just built with a bunch of parts bolted together, it has been through meticulous testing and is completely sorted mechanically! The odometer currently reads 79,183 which is believes to be actual. It is currently listed in the Mustang Boss 302 Registry, comes with a Deluxe Marti Report, extra keys, and ALL original parts. If you should require the extensive list of these components, please call Jon Faust in our sales department for more details. This is a rare chance to own a tremendously unique part of Fords racing history! Dont delay, this one will not last long!
