1966 Ford Mustang Shelby Clone Fastback
This must have beauty was professionally restored form bumper to bumper. This vehicle was a perfect candidate for restoration being owned by one owner from purchase in 1966 till 2006 in the Arizona area. Since 2006 till now, this head turner has been in the Colorado Springs dry climate area. This vehicle has no rust, and was totally stripped down to bare metal and inspected for panels needing replacement. None where needing replacement. The right quarter panel and deck lid were replaced at one time due to an accident. Accident repairs were done well. The rest of the panels on the vehicle are the factory originals. The body and paint work are excellent and show ready. I know because I did the work myself and have been in the body business for 35+ years. I am the GM of a large Cadillac dealership and know quality. The 289 motor has 30 K on it since being rebuilt. Original mileage is 83,400.
The motor has an aluminum radiator with an electric push fan pushed in front of the radiator. The engine compartment has lots of chrome extras such as air cleaner, valve covers, uni-body braces, brake reservoir cap, oil pan and aluminum mid rise elbrock manifold with a 600 model Holley. A hot coil with electronic ignition in the distributor and new wiring, power brake booster, disc front brakes and suspension rebuilt from front to rear. Rear end has new 3.5 to 1 gear ratio, new brake lines, and new fuel lines. It drives straight down the road and shifts smooth. The interior has been completely replaced form head liner to carpet and every interior metal piece stripped and repainted. The chrome hinges on the back seat are original and have some pitting. The California special center council is a plus and looks great with iPod/mp3 connection professionally hid under console door. Stereo has power booster nicely mounted in trunk with three speakers, one in dash (original mount), and two speakers in the lower part of quarter trim. New drivers door glass and factory windshield with Ford logo. Vent chrome has also been replaced. This American beauty is a great car, with its cherry bomb mufflers with trumpet exhaust tips, tops it off with a mean muscle car sound. Undercarriage is show worth and very clean.
