This 1979 Pontiac Trans Am SE is edition code Y84 which is the Bandit with black paint, black interior and black decals. It has a gold swirl polished instrument panel, gold emblem in front of the hood and gold snowflake wheels and T-tops. It has a 403 V8 with automatic trans and is fully loaded: AC, rear defroster, ps, pdb, tilt, pw, p-trunk release, remote mirror etc.
It was purchased from the original owner and it has always been in the Los Angeles area.
The car has always been garaged and has only 24000 miles on the odometer. The only things that have been replaced are the front tires and the battery. The rear tires are the original tires according to the previous owner!
The paint is still all original and has not been touched up or have the decals. It is still the one stage black, without clear coat on top. It has no dents, major scratches or dings. It still shines and the decals are unharmed. This car has not been washed with water and will not be. This paint looks like on a 2 year old car. There is no rust on the car not even surface rust.
The interior is all original as delivered from the dealer. There are no cracks in the dash top, door panels or anywhere else. No rips in the seats. No spots, discoloration or fading on any soft parts. Seat belts are like new. Nobody has smoked in the car, the ashtray is as new. All
weather stripping on the whole car is still soft and fresh, unusual here in CA. The T-tops seal fine against the body and they are the GM Fischer ones, not Hurst. The original GM bags for the T-tops are present. There are no scratches on any bezels, rose polished areas, steering wheel or knobs.
The trunk is like from the factory, intact with space saver wheel which has never been mounted, It still has print on it and the inflation can. The correct orange washers holding the rear bumper are
in place since nothing has been apart. All factory decals on the inside trunk lid.
The undercarriage is all original and has not been painted or tampered with. The engine bay is the same. It has the original chalk marks on the radiator support and paper stickers from the factory.
The snowflake wheels are original and look new. No chips or scratches. Wheel locks were added by the owner and the key is in the console. All the glass is excellent and there are no scratches.
The car runs and drives like new. Everything works and the A/C blows cold. It is a joy to drive,
it handles like a new 1979 car and there are no rattles.
This car is investment quality and as you may know, these late -70:s Trans Am:s are going up in value. This one has the best color, I don't need to mention the Smokie and the Bandit movie fame, but later when they go for a lot more money, this is the color you will want.
