Description

Talk about a practical hot rod! This 1969 Ford Ranchero 500 delivers on every count: big power, lots of options, gorgeous sheetmetal design, and nobody can argue that it isnt useful to have around the house. It wears a late-model Ford truck color that is a brilliant metallic copper done in two-stage urethane. Fortunately, it looks right at home on the 60s sheetmetal, because something similar was called Aurora Copper Metallic or Indian Fire or Burnt Orange in 1969. Whatever you want to call it, it looks flat-out spectacular on the Ranchero 500s body, with great prep and a brilliant shine that glows in the sunlight. The blacked-out hood treatment helps add to the 60s performance vibe, and with a big block 390 under the hood, this cars performance is not limited to just a paint treatment. The trim is all in good condition, and suggests that the car has always been well-maintained, with a great shine everywhere you look. It appears that this Ranchero 500 is no stranger to working for a living, so the bed now sports a durable black finish. The black bench seat interior is a recent reupholstery in the original style. The carpet is also newer and looks exceptional. The dash and gauges in their four separate round pods are definitely vintage 1969, and they all work as they should. Youll also note that this car sports factory A/C; rare in 1969 and practically unheard-of in trucks of the period. A/C and heat are currently not functioning however a new heater core is included and the purchaser will have the option to repair the original A/C components that are all present or install Vintage Air. Theres an AM/FM/cassette radio in the dash, and the upscale touches like the woodgraining on the door panels and dash remain presentable and appropriate. Only the steering wheel seems to be showing its age, now wrapped in a black leather cover. With a numbers-matching 390 cubic inch big block under the hood, this Ranchero 500 is no slouch in the performance department, either. Recently freshened and wearing a bright coat of Ford Blue engine enamel, it looks period correct in the satin black engine bay and runs extremely well. The big chrome air cleaner isnt stock, but it looks great atop the super clean engine, which is largely hidden by the massive A/C compressor. An automatic transmission, power brakes and steering are welcome additions, and the chassis has been maintained properly, including new shocks and a great-sounding dual exhaust system that dumps just ahead of the 9-inch rear axle. The floors and frame show no signs of cancer or rot, and it tracks down the road like an arrow. Five-spoke polished aluminum wheels on 15-inch radials give it a nice update that works well with the sophisticated paint. A muscle car that can work this hard is a rare machine, and youll enjoy this 1969 Ranchero 500s unique combination of luxury, performance, and utility no matter what you do. Call today!
