For Sale: 1963 Dodge Polara in La Canada, California

Vehicle Description

Details

This 1963 Dodge Polara 500 coupe is a fitting example of the beginnings of the muscle car era in America. A real sleeper, the Polara was just above the Dart 440 and 330 in the model range and featured real V8 power. This particular example was born with a 383ci V8 but now has a 426ci Max Wedge V8, also available in the Polara 500.

This example wears a light beige paint job complimented by a matching two-tone white and blue upholstery. The Polara has a unique push button automatic transmission on the dash and has been modified with an aftermarket tachometer and oil pressure gauge. New interior was installed including new dash pad, trunk accent and other trim from Legendary Interiors. The Polara 500 was considered a sporty version of Polara due to its bucket seats and center armrest. This particular model has also been modified with a positraction rear differential.

Third-party photos and an inspection were performed to ensure peace of mind to prospective buyers. The car has resided in California with the current owner for 30 years and received a restoration and repaint shortly after the current owner purchased the vehicle. The five-digit odometer shows 15,182 miles, but the true mileage of the car is unknown. Included in the sale of the car is the original 383ci V8 motor if the next owner desires to keep it with the car. Also included is one key and a car cover.

This Polara 500 is available in La Canada, California, as a Premium Listing on CLASSIC.COM and is being sold by Robert Lewis.

About the model

The Dodge Polara is an automobile introduced in the United States for the 1960 model year as Dodge's top-of-the-line full-size car; after the introduction of the Dodge Custom 880 in 1962, the Polara nameplate designated a step below the full-sized best-trimmed Dodge model; the Polara that year had been downsized to what was in effect intermediate, or mid-size status. In its various forms, the Polara name was used by Dodge until 1973, when its position in Dodge's line-up was replaced by the Dodge Monaco.
