• VIN 91A0140167
• A Program - Produced from August 1979 to July 1980
• No. 167 of 4,272 US 911SC
• Completed September of 1979
Finished in its original color combination, Casablanca Beige
Metallic (463) with a Fawn interior. According to the Service and
Warranty Booklet, this 911SC Targa was first sold through Bozzani
VW in Covina, California, to the first owner, Mr. Affatati. The
paintwork is well-preserved and does have patina with imperfections
consistent with its age. The upholstery is in nice condition, with
no rips or tears, but it does have a cracked dash. The original
steering wheel has been wrapped in leather and sits ahead of
factory VDO instrumentation with a Sony AM/FM radio. The Fuchs
alloy wheels are mounted to Michelin Pilot Sport All-Season tires
205 55 ZR 16 in the front and 225 50 ZR 16 in the rear (Dated
2020).
In 2021, subsequent to the car being acquired by the previous owner
and transported to Oregon, expenditures amounting to over $3,700
were incurred at Stoddard to replace cosmetic items. Additionally,
the engine was rebuilt, the head studs were replaced, and a full
brake job was performed. In early 2024, $10,594.00 was spent with
Vision Motorsports in Laguna Hills, California. The service
entailed the replacement of a left cam oil line and testing of the
CIS fuel pressure and oxygen sensor system. Replaced the pulse
valve, oxygen sensor, engine cooling fan, Bank 2 chain tensioner,
fuel injectors, spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor, steering
shaft bushing, fuel sending unit, fuel pump, fuel accumulator,
engine mounts, air box, and fuel distributor.
Mechanically, it is powered by the 3.0-liter air-cooled flat-six
engine (Type 930/16), producing 180 horsepower @ 5,500 rpm with 175
foot-pounds torque @ 4,200 rpm. A five-speed manual 915
transmission (Type 915/63) drives power to the rear wheels with a
four-wheel disc braking system. Complete with owner's manual,
warranty, and maintenance booklet, and a date-coded spare wheel. A
great opportunity to acquire a nice driver-quality 911SC Targa that
is mechanically excellent and ready to enjoy!
