"Backdraft Racing (BDR) was founded in January 2001 by Tony Martin
and Reg Dodd, two world champion auto racers. The company has
evolved to become a leader in producing authentic replicas and
custom-built roadsters. BDR roadsters combine classic styling with
21st century technology. They feature one-piece glass-reinforced
plastic (GRP) molding with extra reinforcement for the wheel
arches, and a ladder-type chassis made from SAE 1008 2- x 4-inch
rectangular steel tubing."
This 1965 Backdraft Racing Cobra Roadster replica is finished in
Titanium Silver with a black stripe and black interior. Built in
Durban, South Africa this Cobra features a 351 Windsor High Output
engine provided by the Engine Factory and installed by Speed
Fanatix Inc. The 351W engine which is bored .030 over has a
calculated 400 horsepower and is mated to a Tremec 5-speed manual
transmission which provides an excellent power to weight ratio.
With only 5075 miles this Cobra is barely broken in.
The interior is typical of the Backdraft Racing Cobra's with VDO
gauges, low-back black leather seats, racing harnesses and a wood
steering wheel. The interior shows very well with just minor wear
on the side bolster of the drivers' seat. Also provided with this
Cobra is a black vinyl top with side curtains and a heater for
colder days.
Turn the key of this Cobra and you will soon understand the
excitement around these cars as you hear and feel the rumble from
the chrome side pipes. This Cobra Replica is running on 17"
Halibrand-style knock off wheels with Goodyear Eagle F1 tires. The
date code on the tires is 2006.
This car is currently titled and registered in Massachusetts as a
2006 Cobra Roadster, please verify with your local DMV the
