Gateway Classic Cars Milwaukee is proud to present this 1951
Oldsmobile Rocket 88. By 1951 the 88 was the entry level model in
the Oldsmobile line up. This was the first year all Oldsmobile's
came exclusively with the Rocket V-8. The rocket engine was an
all-new design that pumped out 135hp. Quite an accomplishment when
you consider the ever-popular Ford Flathead V-8 was putting out 35
less horsepower. The 1951-52 Rocket 88 was an instant hit with its
sleek design. It didn't hurt that the 88 Rocket was also crowned
"King of Nascar". Some even consider the Rocket 88 the predecessor
to the muscle car era. This 1951 Oldsmobile Rocket 88 is painted in
Tuxedo black with and abundance of chrome and stainless body trim.
Gold emblems of the world on both the front and rear, factory wheel
covers, and that ever famous "Rocket" hood ornament are the true
stand outs on the exterior of this beautiful car. The interior is
elegantly appointed in a tan cloth interior with full carpeting.
The ornate dash comes with a full gauge package and an AM radio.
The 303 Rocket V-8 is attached to a Hydramatic transmission.
