According to Porsche Kardex, this 356SC Cabriolet was initially
handled by Porsche AMAG in Switzerland and delivered to the first
owner, Paul Hausen. It is currently presented in a classic color
combination: Signal Red (6407) with a Beige interior and a black
German canvas soft top. It has been in single-family ownership for
the past 30 years. In 2002, this 356SC Cabriolet achieved the
Popular Vote and Best in Class accolades at the San Marino Concert
in The Park Charity Concours.
The paintwork is in excellent condition, with good gaps and panel
fit. The exterior trim, brightwork, and rubber seals are in
excellent condition. Recent upgrades to the interior include
reupholstery of the front seats and door panels, accompanied by a
factory VDM steering wheel, VDO instrumentation, and a Kenwood
stereo. The undercarriage is nicely detailed and solid and
rust-free. Chrome 4.5" x 15" wheels are mounted to Vredestein
Sprint Classic tires (date coded 2023).
Mechanically, it is in excellent condition and is a fantastic 356SC
to drive. The 1600cc matching flat-four engine (Type 616/16)
produces 107 BHP @ 5200 RPM, with 90 Ft-Lbs of Torque @ 4200 RPM.
Power to the rear wheels passes through the matching manual 4-speed
transmission (Type 741) with a four-wheel disc braking system. The
top speed is 125 MPH.
One of the most desirable collector models is the 356 SC Cabriolet,
introduced in September of 1963 for the 1964-year model. It is the
best-driving 356, built with plenty of horsepower and four-wheel
disc brakes! The 356SC features subtle improvements and updated
details fitted to the 356 over the 15 years of the production run.
It is accompanied by the original build sheet, spare wheel, jack,
and boot cover. This is an excellent opportunity to acquire the
top-of-the-line 356 Cabriolet in a striking color combination,
complete with its original driveline.
