The Nineteenth Series ushered in design changes; it was the first
year that Packard incorporated headlights in the fenders and made
running boards optional. And this striking 1485 DE Coupe (DE
signifies Deluxe) is even more exceptional. It rides on a 123-inch
wheelbase, has a backup light and features chrome exterior window
frames and four dramatic stainless spears on the fenders, The
interior is just as compelling and comfortable . . . with a working
radio (converted to AM/FM), clock (converted to quartz), heater
(under-seat as well) and defroster. The pristine seats feature a
two-tone upgraded wool broadcloth and look brand-new Ownership
history is available from 2005 through the present. In 2009 the
last owner decided he wanted to make it perfect again and spent
over $31,000 on a body-off restoration (documented receipts and
photos of the restoration are available). Be sure to look closely
at the photo gallery here, especially at the interior and the trim
along the door and windshield frames. You'll quickly appreciate the
high-quality work and care that have been lavished on this classic.
In fact, it's easy to see why -- following its 2009 restoration --
this Packard won an AACA First Place award the same year. Soon
after, it won its First Senior at the Fall Meet in Hershey,
Pennsylvania. When purchased by the current owner in 2021, the car
didn't run well, as it had been sitting unused for a few years due
to the last owner's illness. Since then, everything mechanical as
well as cosmetic has recently been addressed. In addition, the gas
tank and fuel system were cleaned, brakes replaced, head removed,
and engine rebuilt. This Packard 110 Deluxe is as good as we have
seen and driven. As the next owner, you'll be able to tour and show
this car at any event from the first day you slide behind the
wheel. Where else will you find such a classic in this condition at
this price? But, after all, it IS a Packard . . . ask the man who
owns one.
