Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1991 Lotus Turbo Esprit
SE. This Esprit is finished in white over black leather and is
showing just under 45,000 miles. It has been with the current
enthusiast owner in Georgia for two years. The Stevens-designed
X180 Esprit debuted in 1988 and offered updated bodywork, interior
and mechanicals over the outgoing Guigiaro S3 model. By 1991 the
2.2 liter turbocharged engine was making 264 horsepower and
provided 0-to-60 times of under five seconds - still quick by
today's standards but blisteringly fast 30 years ago.
This example runs and drives great and has benefited from new RC
fuel injectors. Color matched, staggered 15- and 16-inch wheels are
wearing matched Falken tires. Cold A/C. Spax coilovers. Paint
quality is good overall but there are some imperfections in the
finish and the fiberglass. Interior shows normal wear but remains
in presentable condition.
A previous listing claims the timing belt was changed in 2015 and
it does have the blue Gates belt installed, but it is likely due
for service at this point due to age. One fuel tank has been
bypassed. A new Nardi steering wheel was recently installed and the
original airbag wheel is included along with service manuals, some
records and factory jack.
