1994 Mazda RX-7 Turbo II in Rancho Santa Margarita, California

Vehicle Description

Details

This highly modified 1994 Mazda RX-7 Touring is a carefully maintained and enhanced machine that awaits the discerning buyer. The car is painted in the Mazda factory color of Montego Blue Mica over beige leather upholstery. Recent owner updates to the body of the car make it look even more modern than its counterparts.

This RX-7 is powered by a replacement 1.3L twin-turbocharged 13B rotary crate engine that was replaced approximately 9,900 miles ago. Modifications to the engine and updates to the body, and suspension can be found below or at this link. A 5-speed manual transmission with overdrive is mated to the rotary engine. The odometer shows 137,238 miles.

Additional modifications include new control arms and front subframe to improve handling, while body modifications such as a front chin spoiler, rear diffuser, and Enkei TFR Copper wheels boost the car's stance and presence. Inside the car now has a Momo Drift steering wheel and Alpine stereo system. The Touring package, when new, included a BOSE sound system, a power glass moonroof, halogen fog lamps, a rear wiper, and upgraded sound insulation for a quiet ride.

The car is a true California car and comes with many records of the modifications performed as well as service. Third-party photos, a PPI inspection, and a CarFax all ensure transparency for the buyer and are available. Included in the sale of the vehicle is the original window sticker.

This RX7 is available in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA as a Premium Listing on CLASSIC.COM. being sold by Robert Lewis.

About the model

The Mazda RX-7 Touring is a luxury trim available for the RX-7 FD Generation during 1993 and 1994. Like the rest of the FD range, the Touring version was powered by Mazda's 1.3L 13B rotary twin-turbo engine capable of 255hp, driving power to the rear via a 5-speed manual transmission or an optional (and far less common) automatic transmission. The RX-7 Touring was equipped with a sunroof, front fog lights, rear wiper and leather interior. Yet the most distinctive feature (and to some controversial) was the inclusion of a Bose subwoofer system which occupied a great deal of space in the rear. Touring examples were often modified by dealers (or by the aftermarket) to feature additional details from the RX-7 R1/R2 variant such as the front and/or rear spoilers. The Touring package was phased out starting in 94' and completely for 95' with the similar, but poorly named, "Popular Equipment Group" package. The JDM equivalent of the Touring package is the Touring X.
