The 1997 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa is a testament to both heritage
and innovation. It's a descendant of a legendary design concept
dating back to the 1960s, reimagined for the modern era with a

The Targa concept, named after the legendary Targa Florio race,
first appeared in 1965 as a response to safety concerns surrounding
full convertibles. Porsche's innovative design featured a removable

with added structural rigidity. The 1997 Carrera Targa
revolutionized this idea with its expansive, retractable glass roof
- a marvel of engineering that transformed the driving experience.

Documents show that this 993 Targa was originally delivered to
Seattle in 1997. The first owner had this vehicle in his possession
for 23 years total, putting a spirited 20,500 miles on the car. In
2003, six years after purchasing the vehicle, the owner moved down
to California, and made sure to bring his beloved 993 Targa with
him. After 17 years in the golden state, the owner and the car
relocated back up to the Pacific Northwest, where it resided for 2
more years. After 23 years of ownership, the original owner decided
to sell the car to a gentleman out in Maryland. Records show the
vehicle was recently serviced in December of 2023 and has only
accumulated 2,000 miles since the original owner.
Upon arriving at Canepa, vehicles are treated to the "Canepa
Difference" This includes a complete mechanical inspection.
Everything is serviced as needed and road-tested by Bruce Canepa.
It is finished off with a Concours quality detail. The undersides
and wheel wells are hand-cleaned, ensuring that each surface is
spotless. The trunk, interior, and engine bay are also cleaned,
