Description:
This 1964 Mercury Park Lane Marauder two-door hardtop fastback was
ordered new from Floyd Eby Mercury-Comet of Goshen, Indiana, and
remained with its original owner until the early 2020s. Powered by
a 390ci V8 linked with a four-speed manual transmission, the car is
finished in turquoise over turquoise vinyl upholstery. Equipment
includes power steering, power brakes, wheel covers, dual exhaust,
air conditioning, a compass, a tachometer, and an AM/FM radio. A
Holley carburetor was installed in preparation for the sale, the
spark plugs and the battery were replaced, and the fluids were
changed. This Z-code Marauder is now offered in Florida with
manufacturer's literature, 1964 sales and warranty paperwork, a
removed carburetor, and a clean title.
Interior:
The cabin features front and rear bench seats upholstered in
multi-tone turquoise vinyl along with a color-coordinated
dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. Woodgrain trim accents the
door panels, which house cranks for the door glass and the vent
windows. A dealer-installed Comfy-Kit air conditioner is located
under the dash, and it is said to blow cool but not cold. An
illuminated Guide-Rite compass also has been added, as has a Yankee
emergency-flasher switch. Further appointments include an AM/FM
radio, front lap belts, a heater, a map light, and a swing-out
tissue box. The clock is inoperable, and the radio does not receive
stations. The three-spoke steering wheel features "Mercury XXV
Anniversary" lettering and a partial horn ring. Instrumentation
includes a 120-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges, and a Rotunda
tachometer is attached to the dash top. The five-digit odometer
indicates 40k miles.
Exterior:
Finished from the factory in Silver Turquoise (D), the car was
repainted under previous ownership. Features include fender skirts,
bright trim, chrome bumpers, and dual exhaust outlets. The car has
dual side mirrors, the driver side of which has an integral
spotlight that is currently inoperable.
Drivetrain:
The 390ci V8 was factory rated at 300 horsepower and 427 lb-ft of
torque. A Holley four-barrel carburetor was installed in
preparation for the sale, the spark plugs and the battery were
replaced, and the fluids were changed. Power is sent to the rear
wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. Black-painted 15?
steel wheels with spinner-style covers are mounted with 235/75
Nexen N'Priz AH5 whitewall tires. Braking is provided by
power-assisted drums at all four corners, and the car also is
equipped with power steering and rear air shocks.
