Wow, super rare car here! One of only 113 produced with the 428, a
4-speed and air conditioning! This one has received a thorough
frame off restoration to show quality factory specs. To make things
even better it's a # matching car documented by Pontiac Historical
Service. This was from the estate of an avid collector that
specifically collected big cars with 4-speed manuals. We have done
business with him in the past and his cars have always had top
quality restorations and were super rare.
EXTERIOR: This is not a car that we get at the museum every day!
I'm absolutely in love with the fastback body lines and styling. It
is sleek and sophisticated with a roof line that looks like it's
traveling 100 miles an hour while sitting still! The aggressive
catamaran style front fascia and bumper with blacked out grille has
absolutely stolen my heart. Both the bumpers and every single piece
of trim virtually look like new with a show quality shine. The red
"428" and "2+2" badges are stark, yet soothing contrast to the
smooth blue paint. The bodywork and paint on this car are
astounding! It has been completed by an acclaimed body shop with a
high level of expertise. It has been meticulously wet sanded and
polished to a finish that sparkles. I was not able to find any
imperfections while inspecting the paint, but I may have missed
one. Looking down the side of the body it is as straight as a rifle
barrel. All the panels are aligned with precision and all the gaps
are spot on. The doors, hood, and trunk all open and close easily
like a new car. It has factory correct 15" Rally ll rims restored
with correct lug nuts, center caps and highly polished trim rings.
They are wrapped in radial white wall tires. Come take a look for
yourself and I'm sure you will share the same sentiment as me!
INTERIOR: Sitting inside this car, almost everything looks brand
spanking new! If you are super fussy this is the car for you. Let's
start at the top with the headliner which has been replaced. Even
all the interior chrome trim looks like new. The visors and
rear-view mirror have been replaced. The dash pad and dashboard
including instrumentation and knobs look refurbished or replaced.
The climate control unit and radio look original but in fantastic
condition. It has a beautiful reproduction deluxe steering wheel.
The center console and 4-speed shifter appear to be original but
refurbished. The bucket seats have been reupholstered with an
amazing fresh feel that is both firm and comfortable. The rear seat
looks like new and are equipped with seat belts for the entire
family to cruise. It has rubber Pontiac floor mats sitting on top
of carpeting that looks like new. The door panels have been
replaced and have factory correct 2+2 badging. Even the door
handles and window crank have been replaced. This factory looking,
virtually new interior is as good as they get!
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Lift the hood and instantly be mesmerized by
quire a rare sighting! Beneath lies the factory correct date coded
H.O. 428 power plant producing 376 horsepower and a monstrous
amount of torque. This engine paired with a factory 4 speed and air
conditioning is virtually impossible to find. It also features
power steering and brakes. The underside of the hood, fender wells,
and firewall have all been smoothly painted their correct factory
satin black. It has electric wipers and the squirters are hooked
up. The engine is completely stock: painted the correct Pontiac
blue, rechromed valve covers and air cleaner, H.O. exhaust
manifolds, correct carb and even dated plug wires. All the
components look factory correct and fresh. The radiator and clutch
fan look fresh as well. It has the correct fan shroud. A
reproduction Delco battery topper has been added. All the hoses and
wires are routed appropriately in a factory style fashion. This is
a top-quality restoration through and through!
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: This is an immaculate trunk compartment! The
underside of the trunk lid is painted body color and is just a
smooth and shiny as the rest of the car. Reproduction stickers were
added. The weather stripping has been replaced. The trunk pan metal
is absolutely spotless! It has been repainted very neatly with a
durable spatter finish paint. It has a reproduction liner kit
including side panels, w mat and spare tire cover. A full-size
spare and complete jack assembly is included. This is an impressive
trunk compartment with top quality finishes!
UNDERSIDE: This car is very clean and very well put together, it
looks like it was a body off frame restoration. Rust free, smooth
metal. Everything has been neatly painted black and looks
fantastic. The steering was rebuilt. The front and rear suspension
was completely rebuilt. This car has four-wheel drum power assisted
brakes at all four corners. The brake system was rebuilt. All the
brake lines have also been replaced and the e-brake is hooked up.
The gas tank and straps have both been replaced. Looking up at the
motor It is very clean. It has been painted the correct Pontiac
blue and is free of any leaks. It has a new high torque starter. It
has its original Muncie 4-speed manual transmission dated for this
car. It also looks very clean and fresh. It is attached to a 10
bolt posi rear end that has been very neatly painted black. You'll
be totally impressed with the quality of this undercarriage!

I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to
assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are
answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video
that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are
displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an
appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment
there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car,
your admission will be refunded, and you will be given a 1 year
membership.
