This truck has been local since November of 1958 when it was purchased in Pittsfield Illinois for $2,280.05.
It was then purchased in November of 2008 from the original owners family & removed from the barn where it had been stored for 28 years.
Restoration & upgrades were started to make the truck more enjoyable in modern traffic.
The original inline 6 cylinder & 3 speed was replaced with a 350 V8 & 700R4 automatic overdrive transmission.
Fuel cell added in bed of truck for safety & tank behind seat no longer functions.
Heidt's independent front suspension replaced the originlal staight front axle & leaf springs.
Rack & pinion power steering and power front disc brakes were fitted.
Rear axle was replaced with a Ford 9 inch with drum brakes.
Vintage Air AC kit installed & aluminum radiator.
Door glass replaced with one piece tinted glass.
Bed wood replaced with new oak wood, black stain & clear sealer.
Tailgate chains have been removed & latches installed in bed.
Upholster by H&K auto trim in Jacksonville, Illinois.
Paint by Craig's Collision center in Pittsfield Illinois.
The truck looks fantastic & is amazing to drive.
Starts, idles & drives excellent.
Fun to drive & gets a lot of attention at the gas pump!
