Pontiac introduced the Firebird in 1967. The Firebird would take
flight and become one of the most popular Pontiacs of all time,
even to this day. Being the first production year and a
convertible, this model is sought-after by collectors today.
This rare bird has been fully restored and upgraded into a
high-quality resto-mod, finished in Regimental Red on a
laser-straight body with a 400 hood, rear spoiler, front chin
spoiler, and black power-operated convertible top. A set of premium
Foose wheels staggered 17 inches in front and 18 inches in the
rear, wrapped with BF Goodrich G-Force performance tires, giving
this classic Firebird the proper stance. The spotless Parchment
interior features cold modern air conditioning, a retro sound
stereo with kick panel speakers, a rear-mounted power antenna, an
upgraded 3-spoke steering wheel, a tilt steering column, a factory
console, and a B&M shifter.
The engine bay is highly detailed, with body color-coordinated
radiator support, fender liners, and a smoothed firewall. Powering
this restomod is a healthy 5.7 tuned port-injected Chevrolet engine
mated to a 4L60E automatic transmission that sends power back to a
Ford 9-inch 3.50:1 limited slip rear end. Additionally, the car has
an aluminum radiator with dual electric fans, a premium Red Top
Optima battery, power steering, and ceramic-coated long-tube
headers exiting through dual exhaust with Magnaflow mufflers that
sound deep and throaty.
The same high-quality restoration and detail work can be seen in
the underpinnings of this classic, which features a Wilwood 4-wheel
power disc brake system, power steering rack, tubular front control
arms with QA1 coil-overs, and a rear 4-link setup with QA1
adjustable coil-overs.
