Vehicle Description
The 1990s were known for many wonderful things, and not the least
of those things are the muscle cars that the decade brought about.
The fourth-generation Pontiac Firebird, while gone, will never be
forgotten, and this 1996 Pontiac Firebird Formula is a rare bird
indeed. While the Trans Am dominated Pontiac's performance
division, the lesser-known Formula is a true sleeper car. Using the
base Firebird's body, the Formula got the T/A's hi-po power. This
sleek Black over Graphite Grey beauty looks as stock as it did from
the factory, complete with its quad-tipped exhaust and "Formula"
bumper badge.
A stout 5.7-liter small-block LT1 V-8 sits under the hood, which
sends power through a four-speed 4L60E automatic transmission and
onto a 2.73 ratio Positraction rear end. Sitting on MacPherson
struts up front and coil springs with shocks out back, this Formula
rides on stock-style 16-inch rims shod in 245/50R-16 rubber on all
four corners. Four-wheel power disc brakes add a level of safety,
and they are capable of scrubbing off speed with ease.

The fourth generation of the Pontiac Firebird is the last we have
seen of this magnificent muscle car. The Formula is arguably the
most underrated trim in this lineup, and also the most rare. Most
cars from this era have been customized and modified extensively,
so finding one looking almost exactly how it rolled off the
assembly line is not something that comes along too often. Call
