Cincy Classic Cars is proud to offer this 1979 Factory TA with the original matching numbers 403 engine and automatic transmission. This TA was restored some years ago but still shows and runs well. No visible rust anywhere around the car and no bubbling or cracked paint from body filler.
This TA features a nice repaint in factory Mayan Red and new decals were installed after the repaint, a restored red vinyl interior, the original 403 engine, and an upgraded custom stereo system. This Trans Am is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combinations of Red over Red vinyl interior. This is the factory color scheme as verified on the trim tag pictured above.
Exterior
The Red exterior was restored and looks great and is very solid. This Trans Am was treated to a repaint in factory Mayan Red paint and new decals were installed at that time. The paint shows well and decals look new. There are no signs of visible rust on the body and the underside is solid with no patches. The paint is nice and the fit and finish of the car is very good. There may be some imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but nothing was intentionally excluded from the photos. Both bumpers are in great shape with no flaking or faded paint. The 17" tires have near full tread left and the aftermarket 17" wheels are in great condition and look good on this car. All weather stripping and window sweeps have been replaced and are in good condition. Trunk is very solid and clean with an original style felt trunk mat. New high end performance 6x9 speakers were installed and two new amps were installed in the trunk.
Interior
The Red vinyl interior of this Trans Am has been restored and is mostly stock and in great overall condition. The seat covers were replaced and new seat foam was installed. They are in great overall condition with no major wear or rips or seam splits. The carpet was replaced and is like new and with no rips or holes. The dash is in good condition with no cracks or fading and the dash bezel is in good shape too. The stereo was upgraded to a custom unit mounted in the center console. New 6x9 speakers were added in the rear deck with two new amps in the trunk. This stereo sounds incredible and really rocks out and has usb and other connections. The door panels were replaced and are in great condition and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The headliner was replaced and is like new and in new shape. The package tray was replaced and is in good condition. All interior and exterior lights and gauges work outside of the clock and tach and horn. This car has not been smoked in; there is no aroma what so ever.
Mechanical
This Trans Am is in good mechanical condition and runs and drives well and has good power. The original numbers matching 403 engine runs good and has plenty of power and this TA runs and drives well. The engine was believed to have been rebuilt some years and new cam was installed and the cam card is included. The brakes work well and do not pull from side to side and new calipers were added with new brake hoses and pads. A new gas tank was added with new some new rubber fuel lines. The exhaust was upgraded to true dual Flowmaster mufflers which gives this TA a nice rumble at idle and cruising speeds. A new starter was added. Suspension was upgraded with new rear leaf springs and new end links and sway bar mounts. 4 new shocks were added. New steering linkage was added. The rear diff. was serviced and a new chrome cover was added. In the video one can observe this car running and driving and shifting through the gears. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. Also, the engine bay is nicely detailed and clean and shows well. This is a factory AC car and the AC was converted to R134. The AC comes on and compressor clicks on and spins properly was the system needs recharged to work at its best. This TA is a true attention getter and very fun to drive around on a nice day.
