this muscular Chevelle SS Convertible. Fully restored to a high
standard and further refined and modified by the renowned
customizers at Kindig It Design, this slick drop top is ready to
wow crowds.
Stripped to bare metal and rotisserie restored, the body has been
thoroughly massaged and polished to a high luster. It retains all
the classic lines and features '70 Chevelles are known for, such as
the functional cowl induction hood, polished hood pins, and twin
racing stripes, while also improved with sleek, flush-mounted door
handles, polished billet aluminum wheels, and a killer stance
courtesy of Kindig It Design.
Under the hood lives a potent 454ci big block Chevrolet V8, just as
there should be in a 1970 Chevelle Super Sport, nicely upgraded
with aluminum cylinder heads, stainless steel headers, and
electronic fuel injection, giving the engine a substantial bump in
horsepower and reliability. The pros at Mark Clark Speed Sports get
the nod for the engine improvements and tuning. Like the exterior,
the engine compartment has also received the Kindig It treatment by
way of custom sheetmetal enclosures surrounding the engine. A
proven 5-speed overdrive Tremec transmission sends power to 12 bolt
posi-traction rear end. Detroit Speed tubular control arms and
heavy-duty sway bar stiffen the chassis and large Wilwood
four-wheel disc brakes handle stopping duties.
The interior has also been upgraded in the best ways. Classic
original styling upgraded with high quality materials and vastly
improved fit and finish. Over-bolstered bucket seats flank a
hand-fabricated center console and sit facing updated gauges and a
polished Lecara steering wheel. Seats, console, door panels, dash
pad, and conv boot cover have all been nicely upgraded with premium
leather upholstery and custom stitching. Other features include a
power folding top, tilt steering wheel, and AM/FM radio.
