This gorgeous California Bird is better then it appears. It has
major improvements that make it safer, more reliable and
comfortable. If you ever tried getting in or out of a 2 seater
bird, you know it's not easy. This one has been fitted with an
original looking steering wheel with one big difference- it's
smaller and on a tilt column! It makes getting in and out no
problem. They were able to make the wheel smaller because this one
was fitted with a modern rack & pinion power steering that is
effortless. It also has been upgraded with modern power disc
brakes, upgraded cooling, radial tires and more. This is a clean
California car loaded with features. **I just drove it and loved
it. The car ran, and felt so smooth. It was comfortable and easy. I
could drive it all day!
EXTERIOR: Sold new in Los Angeles, I purchased this from a
collector in North Carolina that owned it 12 years. It has a solid,
clean body. It is an older restoration that shows great. Repainted
it's original Gunmetal Gray metallic color. It is glossy and
presents very well but is aged with some crow's feet crackling. The
chrome is shiny and straight with mild wear. Believe me the car is
sharp looking, especially in the sunlight. The color matched rims
have original style hubcaps and a set of radial whitewalls. The
door jambs have been painted and detailed, weather strips and sill
plates are replaced. It has an aftermarket convertible top with a
rich dark blue German cloth. It compliments the color surprisingly
well. It also has a restored porthole hardtop painted to match the
body. The chrome, rubber and headliner were replaced. Upgraded with
Halogen headlights and LED taillights.
INTERIOR: The red interior really pops and it looks great. The
upholstery is excellent and feels like the cushions are new. The
door panels and carpet have been replaced. Upgraded with Lloyds
plush mats and red seatbelts with chrome buckles. The dash area is
is excellent shape. Upgraded with a chrome Thunderbird retro stereo
that has an aux plug. Like mentioned earlier the biggest
improvement is the smaller wheel on a tilt column. Our 6'2"
salesman just hopped in with ease! It also has optional power
windows and seat. The owner's manual is in the glovebox.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The motor compartment is really sharp looking.
It has the engine dress up kit which includes new chrome air
cleaner, polished aluminum valve covers and chrome oil filler cap.
The components all look proper and clean. Detailed with original
decals, Ford hoses and clamps. There are some really worthwhile
improvements in here. The carb was upgraded to a Holley 4 barrel,
radiator upgraded to aluminum, new high flow water pump, brake
master cylinder upgraded to a dual reservoir and a modern power
steering was installed. There is a battery shut off.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Clean metal painted body color. It has complete
gray plaid liner kit. It includes whitewall spare and the jack
assembly. It also includes a car cover.
UNDERSIDE: California car and it is solid. All the metal looks
original and clean. I couldn't find any patches or repairs. The
front end was recently completely rebuilt. New shocks all around.
It was also greatly improved with rack & pinion steering and disc
brakes. Bottom of motor and Fordomatic trans are clean. Exhaust
looks good, shocks look new.
This car is loaded and is documented with original invoice. Also
has sales brochure. Great honest car that is an ideal driver
because of it's upgrades.
