Vehicle Description
This 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible L79 4-Speed in Rally Red
with Black Vinyl Interior was sold new on November 4th, 1966 at
Jameco Chevrolet Inc. In Jamacia, NY with an MSRP of $4,991.95.
This High Performance L79 was very well equipped from the factory.
The factory original Tank Sticker AKA Build Sheet has been verified
as an original General Motors document and the Protect-o-Plate and
warranty book list the optionas as f:
L79 327/350HP Engine, M21 Close Ratio 4-Speed Transmission,
7.75x15x2 Tires, Black Convertible Top, Auxiliary Hardtop and AM/FM
Radio. The Original Owner, Max of Queens, New York, owned this
Corvette for 22 months. The car was then sold at Reedman Motors in
Langhorne, PA, who claimed to be the world's largest auto dealer at
the time of sale on 9/7/68. The second owner, Ken of New York, is
documented by a bill of sale and bank contract, which shows that
Ken traded in a 1958 Ford to purchase the car. Ken would be the
caretaker of this Corvette until his passing in 2015. During Ken's
ownership, he achieved two NCRS top Flight Awards and, (according
to his children), the Corvette was his prized possession. They said
he would often describe the Corvette to inquiring minds as
"cherry". During Ken's ownership, he would have various repairs
done, and ultimately had the Corvette completely re-painted.
Following Ken's ownership, the car was purchased by Joe Verrillo,
and the car was prepped for judging. It went on to achieve a 2021
Bloomington Gold OEM Award on July 18th, 2021. The car was then
purchased by Tom of Arizona, and the Corvette was taken to the next
level to become one of the highest awarded Corvettes in the
country. Tom's attention to detail and tireless passion for
perfection lead to multiple NCRS Top Flight awards, a Performance
Verification award, and finally one of the most prestigious awards
a Corvette can archive: the NCRS Duntov Mark of Excellence award,
which was bestowed upon this L79 on July 7th, 2022. Under Tom's
ownership, a complete and comprehensive owner history file was
created, and is included with the sale. Tom also had the original
Trim Tag and Engine Pad verified by CCAS ( Classic Car Affirmation
Service) AKA Al Grenning, the authority in vintage Corvette
verification of originality. This Corvette has over $160,000 in
restoration receipts, not including the purchase price of the car,
all of which is documented with receipts and an excel spreadsheet
describing all repairs. Documentation for this car is included in
the sale, in two large binders that include all awards and owner
history.
