Vehicle Description
This beautiful 1962 Corvette is finished in red over a matching red
interior and powered by a fuel-injected 327ci V8 mated to a
four-speed manual transmission. The equipment includes a white
convertible top, a body-color removable hardtop, 15" wheels with
factory covers, and a Wonderbar push-button AM radio. The
upholstery was correctly replaced along with the carpeting. The
balance of the interior appears to be largely original. The car was
acquired by the current owner three years ago. After purchasing it,
the new owner took care of a list of minor repairs totaling over
$20,000, including a rebuild of the original T10 transmission,
wiring updates, replacement of the front stabilizer bar, bushings,
and links, replacement with correct rear leaf springs, and brake
service. This 62 Corvette also includes steel 15" wheels with
factory bright covers shod with Firestone Deluxe Champion whitewall
tires that were installed in 2021. At that time the brakes were
serviced, and rear leaf springs were replaced. The original
interior is in excellent condition, showing only minor wear
consistent with a well maintained survivor. The three-spoke
steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a 7,000 rpm
tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, coolant
temperature, amperage, and oil pressure. The fuel and temperature
gauges were rebuilt by the current owner and the fuel sending unit
was replaced. The five-digit odometer shows 57k miles, and true
mileage is unknown. However, given the condition of the
undercarriage, a case could be made that the mileage on the
odometer is original. The undercarriage components appear to be
correct. And with the exception of the items noted in this
narrative, there is no evidence of modifications, and the parts
present themselves as OEM, including the leaf springs which have
been replaced. Nothing stands out as an aftermarket part. The
stamping on the engine pad shows engine suffix "RF" indicating it
is a fuel-injected 327ci/360 horsepower engine with a hi-lift
camshaft mated with a manual transmission. The fiberglass bodywork
is finished in red and has one known repaint under previous
ownership. The Corvette is equipped with a white convertible top,
and a body-color hardtop is included in the sale. The front parking
lights were replaced under current ownership along with the rear
wiring harness. Close-up photos of the paint, trim, and lenses are
shown in the gallery.Amenities included are: a push-button
Wonderbar AM radio, analog clock, cigarette lighter, lap belts, a
dash-mounted rearview mirror, a replacement wiper motor switch and
slide actuator, and rubber floor mats. The 1962 Corvette 327ci V8
was rated at 360 horsepower when new and received a top-end rebuild
by Just Corvettes of Northfield, Illinois, in March 2021. The
Rochester fuel injection unit was also overhauled at that time.
Invoice copies are contained in the gallery.Additional work was
performed, including replacement of the ignition harness and
battery, re-coring the radiator, and installation of new ignition
components, belts, hoses, and fluids.Power is sent to the rear
wheels through a Borg Warner T-10 four-speed manual transmission
that was overhauled in September 2021. The exhaust system was
replaced under previous ownership. Additional undercarriage images
are shown in the gallery.Overall, this is an exceptionally well
cared for, and well maintained, '62 fuel injected Corvette. It's
located in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and available for inspection
by appointment. If you like what you see and read, you will like
