Vehicle Description
With its sporty color combination and 283 dual quad drivetrain,
this Bel Air is the kind of well-done cruiser that perpetuates the
nearly universal appeal of a stock model. And, if you're in the
market for a fully-sorted tri-five, it can be your next
crowd-pleasing classic!
BODYWORK/TRIM
Delightfully vintage and decidedly fresh, this slick sedan is proof
that Chevrolet's decision to take a curvaceous fuselage, weld it to
a sweeping roofline and decorate it with an ample amount of chrome
was an excellent idea. Starting life as a 210 model, it was
subjected to a full, ground-up restoration that included the
addition of Bel Air trim, a dual-quad 283 V8 and sinister black
paint. The quality of this body off restoration is literally
reflected in the mile-deep black paint and stellar panel alignment.
Chrome trim has been restored and shines with high luster. Gone are
the thin wheel covers and bias ply tires and, in their place, wide
Rally wheels with radial tires give the car a much more muscular
look. She is sure to turn heads wherever it goes!
ENGINE
Lift the hood and you will immediately recognize the dual quad 283
by the prominent "bat wing" air cleaner. Twin Carter four-barrel
carbs ride atop correct Power Pack cylinder heads and a brightly
painted 283 cu in lower end. The engine compartment itself is
accurately restored and showcases the level of detail that has gone
into the restoration. It is an engine compartment that will have
you standing proud at any cruise event.
DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION
The frame off restoration allowed for a fresh coat of red oxide
paint on the 210s solid floor pans, which makes a great back drop
for the restored frame and chassis components. A stout 3-speed
manual transmission and 8.2" rear axle are found backing the V8.
And new replacement exhaust, fresh shocks and overhauled drum
brakes at each corner are in place as expected.
INTERIOR
Featuring a stunning array of black and red accents, this
tri-five's carefully fitted interior is both clean and impressive.
New seat upholstery, door panels, carpet, and headliner give driver
comfort, while a restored dash shines like jewelry under lights.
And the passengers stow their essentials in a fully restored trunk
that anchors a full-size spare tire between a correct jack and new
rubber mat.
