Gateway Classic Cars is proud to present this awesome 1977 Nissan
Patrol! Japan was in rebuild mode after all the devastation of
WWII. The government needed a versatile 4WD vehicle that could
transverse the terrain ensuring military and civil personnel could
get the job done. Based off the American Jeeps, the Patrol was home
brewed 4x4 that became a legend in its own right. This second gen
77 Nissan Patrol hails from Columbia and was blessed with a full
restoration. Everything on this utilitarian truck appears and
functions as new. Under the hood is a 4.0L inline six backed by a
3-speed manual transmission and spinning both axles through a
two-speed transfer case. The body is finished in a cool shade of
orange and complimented by a tan canvas roof over black vinyl
interior. Utility is the name of the game with the 77 Patrol, from
the stamped steel body panels, mil spec tires wrapped around 6 lug
stamped steel wheels and heavy duty leaf springs. The big 4.0L six
roars to life like a bullet proof, military grade engine. The lack
of power steering and brakes is nostalgic and strangely reassuring.
You can't shake the feeling of reliability and refined engineering.
The ride is surprisingly compliant, and the driving position
reminds you the people of the 70s were A LOT slimmer! A 1977 Nissan
Patrol is a rare sight on American roads. This classic is also a
cool driver that can be used daily and be little worse for wear.
Add this unique piece of Japanese 4x4 history to your garage. Every
drive is sure to be an adventure!
