The most notable changes included a 2.8-liter electronic fuel-injection engine, an updated interior, a bigger gas tank, and different taillights. The updated interior 280Z is a very nice upgrade over the 240Z, along with the L28 motor. The fuel-injection system is a Bosch L-Jetronic system seen on Alfa Romeos, BMWs, Fiats, and Lancias. We rarely get one of these in and it sure is nice to have one here! Datsun certainly nailed it on the design. And for somebody wanting a good one to work with, this is a good choice. Datsun's Z was Japans answer to America's larger, heavier Corvette, and certain European sports cars. While not in the supercar class, they were (and still are) very good looking, really cool cars and strong performers, thanks to the potent 2753cc inline 6-cylinder under the hood. This one has the 5-speed manual transmission making it even more fun to drive. The forward opening hood makes service a breeze.
