Vehicle Description
This custom 1968 Chevrolet Corvette is powered by a full roller
fuel-injected 383ci stroker BluePrint engine using a Holley Sniper
unit, providing 491hp and 455 ft/lbs of torque based on the dyno
sheet. The powerplant is backed by a TREMEC TKX 5-speed manual
transmission with a McLeod hydraulic clutch. The exhaust system
consists of Doug's ceramic-coated headers and a 2.5-inch exhaust
with twin Flowmaster mufflers. The differential is professionally
rebuilt with Nitro 3.72 ring & pinion gears. A Holley fuel tank,
electric pump, filter and sending unit are installed with an Earl's
fuel line and black anodized connectors. The cooling system
consists of a 4-row aluminum DeWitts radiator with a custom cap and
double electric fans. The chassis and suspension are highlighted by
a powder-coated frame in Satin Black featuring 2-inch offset
trailing arms, QA1 adjustable coilovers, rear sway bar, tubular
upper and lower control arms with new offset control arm shafts,
and a front sway bar. A Borgeson power steering unit is installed.
Braking comes from a Granatelli Motorsports Electric Vacuum System
using Wilwood 6-piston calipers in front and 4-piston calipers in
the rear with 14-inch rotors. The exterior fiberglass body was
reworked and a new metal front nose support was installed. The
custom-designed hood is handmade from the original hood with a
functional cold-air intake. The exterior and interior cavities of
the doors were shot with LizardSkin as well as Dynomat to reduce
heat and sound. Six cowhides of Tomato Red Dani leather were used
to cover every piece of the interior, including the hardtop liner
and the rear speaker enclosure. The original seats are reimagined
with custom foam to a modern standard with pronounced bolstering
and seat heaters. An Ididit chrome tilt steering column is
installed, along with a Billet Specialties steering wheel and door
handles. Power windows and locks were added, and three-point
retractable seat belts were installed to modernize safety. A Dakota
HDX instrument system replaces the stock gauges and Dakota modules
are installed to interface with the Holley Sniper system,
individual tire pressure monitor system, a hidden digital AM/FM
antenna and a Sirius satellite antenna. A Guard Dog security system
is installed with a push-button start system, alarm with GPS
tracker and two key fobs with keyless entry and other remote
features. A Vintage Air system is installed. A center console bezel
was fabricated to accommodate a modern double-DIN Alpine hands-free
sound system with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay with 7-inch screen head
unit. The sound system includes four Rockford Fosgate 6.75-inch
mid-woofers and 1-inch tweeters along with a 10-inch Rockford
Fosgate custom enclosed subwoofer with a 1,000-watt Rockford
Fosgate hidden amplifier along with front and rear cameras. An
American Autowire wiring harness is installed, along with LED
headlights and exterior lighting. Custom Blue-Ice-colored LED
interior courtesy lights are in the footwell, above door handles,
behind the seats and on the rear speaker panel. The lights
illuminate when the doors open and slowly fade off after the doors
close. The soft-top was disassembled, sandblasted, powder-coated
and reassembled with all-new hardware and weatherstripping with
Pacific Blue Stayfast material. The vacuum system was removed and
Detroit Speed electric headlights, windshield wiper motor,
windshield wiper door motor and windshield water motor were
installed behind the new flush-mount firewall with an integrated
door. The wheels are custom-made Avant Garde AGL-67 models wrapped
in Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperCar run-flat tires with electronic
Bluetooth tire pressure monitors, which are displayed in the
dash-mounted Dakota instruments. The tires have custom red lines
burned into them. Title reads mileage exempt.
