Vehicle Description
This 1970 Chevelle SS 454 was built at the Atlanta, GA, factory.
The engine was built as an LS5 and is powered by a period-correct
factory 454 LS5 V8 engine with 360hp paired with a Turbo 400
3-speed automatic transmission. The engine has been professionally
rebuilt and upgraded to a roller motor with new crankshaft, roller
lifters and roller rockers. Spent gases exit through a set of
2-inch stainless-steel long-tube headers and 3-inch stainless-steel
pipes with original-looking tips. The car has a 12-bolt
posi-traction rear end fitted with 3.73 gears. The exterior
features a factory cowl induction hood with hood pins. Additional
original options include power steering and power front disc brakes
with rear drum brakes. The factory air-conditioning system has been
restored and now uses R134 refrigerant. The exterior is finished in
red basecoat/clearcoat with black SS stripes and a black vinyl top.
This Chevelle rides on a set of 15-inch SS wheels wrapped in
BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. The interior features black vinyl
bucket seats, a horseshoe shifter center console with glove box and
an AM/FM radio. This Chevelle has been driven less than 2,000 miles
since the engine and transmission rebuild. 51,018 actual miles.
