Vehicle Description
Gateway Classic Cars of Fort Lauderdale is excited to present this
very special 2002 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Convertible NHRA
6-Speed in red on black. The Pontiac firebird took flight in 1967,
with the introduction of the Trans Am trim just two years after.
From then on when you thought of Pontiac, you thought of the Trans
Am. General Motors f-body platform was used in all four generations
of Firebird, in parallel with the Chevy Camaro. The fourth
generation Trans Am is by far one of the coolest muscle cars to
come out of the 90's and early 2000's. By then, the Trans Am had
reached its peak in performance and style, with Pop-up headlights,
bucket seats, honeycomb taillights... the list goes on.The National
Hot Rod Association was created in 1951, and is now one of the
greatest sponsors in the drag racing community, keeping the passion
for racing alive. The NHRA Special Edition trim was made available
on 2000-2002 Trans Ams and Formulas, to celebrate the NHRA's 50
year anniversary. Pontiac being a major sponsor for years. It only
made sense to pop out a few exclusive Trans Ams that collectors
would love, featuring mechanical upgrades and super cool badging.
It is believed that in 2002 there were only 534 produced. Out of
those there were only 16 Trans Am Convertible M6s and 46 Trans Am
Convertible A4s, further increasing the rarity of this beauty. The
red exterior on this bird looks real hot in the sunlight. The black
top looks nice and operates very well. Interior is in great shape.
The dash is free of cracks, unlike every other Firebird out there.
Clearly taken care of well throughout its life. The seats are
comfortable, adjustable, and super clean. The bucket seats in the
back can be folded down for even more cargo space. It could easily
be mistaken for a two-seater if you don't care for back seats! This
Trans Am is powered by a mean 5.7 Lit V8 motor, paired to a 6-speed
manual. Can these specs get any better?
