For Sale: 1965 Ford Mustang in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

Only 1,370 miles on a rotisserie restoration. When's the last time you've seen a hot little pony car like this one? According to the tag this beauty was born with this color and options, and even has its date coded tagged engine trans and rear end!

EXTERIOR: This is one good looking Mustang, I'm a sucker for dark blue. The body is awesome! Straight as a laser beam, panels fit square and flush. Repainted correct Caspian Blue and it is polished like a mirror. The chrome and trim sparkles. Decked out with GT fog lamps, stripes, wheels, and exhaust tips. The wheels are wider than original and wrapped in BFG tires.

INTERIOR: Beautiful blue/white deluxe pony upholstery and door panels. The dash area is pristine: the metal is repainted slick, all the chrome is sparkling, the dash pad is new etc. Upgraded with a retro radio that looks factory but is actually a stereo. Inside the glovebox the liner is new, the light works, and it has an owner's manual. The interior lights work throughout. The carpet was replaced, the original style 4-speed shifter is on the hump. The seats have new firm cushions and new upholstery. The headliner and visors are new. Door panels and handles are new. Pretty much everywhere you look sitting inside this car it looks brand new, even if you look up under the dash!

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Show quality motor compartment that is very detailed, proper, and fresh. It's a correctly dated and coded 289 engine. It was rebuilt with a little hotter cam, on top is an aluminum intake and Holley 4 barrel carb. Every single component from the alternator and fuel pump to the wiring, master cylinder, distributor and radiator all look like new. Detailed with correct dated plug wires, Motorcraft oil filter, Autolite battery topper, reproduction hoses and clamps.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and the jamb are painted slick. The latches, weatherstrip and hardware all look like new. Inside is clean metal painted blue. It has a new matching mat, bag for the jack and tire cover over a restored spare.

UNDERSIDE: It was restored on a rotisserie so under the car is impressive like the top. All the front suspension components look new down to the hardware! The control arms, bushings, sway bar, and steering linkage are new. The rear leaf springs, shackles, shocks, and hardware look new as well. The front and rear drum brakes consist of new brake components and the parking brake cables are installed. The fuel system was replaced including tank, lines, and correct fuel pump. New GT style dual exhaust lets the 289 roar. Looking up at the motor it's spotless. The correct 4-speed manual trans was rebuilt by the previous owner. The correct 3.25 posi rear is still in the car and was also rebuilt by the previous owner. The floors and frame appear to be rust free and are neatly undercoated.

SERVICE: We inspected the car and lubed the clutch spring, speedometer cable and seat track. We repaired the fog lights, installed a window crank, and adjusted the parking brake.

In my opinion this Mustang is drop dead gorgeous. The whole combination of colors, no vinyl top, wheels, and pony seats separate this one from the others. The restoration is obviously very high-quality top to bottom, in and out. It looks like new, even better in some places! Someone will get a very nice car they'll be proud of for years to come.
