Vehicle Description
STK 3763 1962 Chevrolet Corvette
By 1962, the Chevrolet Corvette had reached a performance standard
that other American cars could not match. To quote Road and Track
Magazine at the time - 'The 1962 Corvette is a pretty package, with
all of the speed you need and then some.' This carefully restored
'62 roadster is stunning - look at the photos. There is a folder of
notes that document the restoration and a copy of the original
window sticker. The Corvette's exterior was reshot in factory code
923 Roman Red and Firestone bias-ply whitewall tires are mounted on
steel wheels with handsome factory spinner hubcaps. The Corvette is
equipped with a manual soft top and fiberglass hardtop w/stand. The
interior is impressive. Upholstery and carpeting are outstanding
and classic interior components include the Wonderbar radio,
factory T-10 shifter, dashboard mirror and passenger grab bar.
Based on the reproduction window sticker, horsepower was originally
supplied by a 327ci small-block that output 340hp. It was equipped
with a single 4-barrel carburetor and solid flat tappet camshaft.
The engine has the correct intake/exhaust manifolds for a '62
327/340 with a Carter AFB carburetor. The distributor and chrome
accessories appear to be correct. The small-block sounds strong
through a custom aluminized exhaust and is backed by a 4-speed
manual transmission. A very solid chassis is equipped with manual
steering and 11" manual drum brakes. All suspension components are
in good condition and the rear axle is fitted with air-shocks. Very
few of these C1 Corvettes reach the marketplace and even though
this beautiful '62 Corvette is not a complete numbers matching car,
it is an amazing restoration that belongs in your collection. ALL
