The year 2002 sounded the death knoll for the GM F-body twins,
Camaro and Firebird. After 35 years of continuous production the
Camaro and Firebird fell victim to GM's financial woes. It was a
significant loss, and even though the Camaro was resurrected in
2010, the F-body has never really been the same. The beautiful
black 2002 Chevrolet Camaro SS you see here represents the pinnacle
of the fourth generation Camaro. The Camaro SS boasted 325
horsepower and 350 ft. lbs. of torque from its LS1 all aluminum
pushrod V-8 engine. This was a twenty-horsepower boost over a Z/28
due to the SS ram air induction hood and freer flowing exhaust.
This particular Camaro has benefitted from the addition of a
ProCharger supercharger and SLP cat back exhaust system to up the
horsepower to approximately 475hp. That rubber burning horsepower
is sent rearward through a smooth shifting 6-speed Tremec T56
manual transmission to a GM 8.8 rear axle with a 3.42:1 gear and
limited slip. Brakes are four-wheel power disc at all four corners
with ABS, and suspension is MacPhearson strut up front and live
axle with tube shocks out back. The outside is finished in a deep
Metallic Black paint, with the SS specific fiberglass hood and duck
tail rear spoiler making this Camaro stand out from its lesser
powered brethren. Beautiful Corvette Z06 chrome plated aluminum
wheels wrapped in fresh Nitto NT555 rubber and chrome tipped
exhaust serve to give this SS a super sporty character. Inside is
all black and all business. Power driver seat, power windows,
locks, and mirrors, AM/FM/CD Bose sound system and ice-cold air to
keep you cool. Or you have the options of dropping the windows and
removing the T-tops to cruise in style while being one with nature,
or just drawing stares as you cruise by with the dual exhaust
burbling away. This Camaro SS is in excellent shape, has all
original owners' books, window sticker, and is a fine low mileage
example of the classic F-body Camaro. These cars are already
appreciating quickly, so you better get it while the getting is
good. Contact Brian at 352-307-1968 and take this SS home today!
