Concours 1965 Buick Riviera Gran Sport
With dual quads atop its 465 Wildcat V8, sports suspension, limited slip rear end, quick ratio steering box and the switch pitch automatic, the masterpiece of design that was the first gen Riviera morphed into Buick’s first muscle car as the 1965-only Gran Sport.
Supremely elegant in Tuxedo Black with a black Deluxe interior, this example really lives up to its period “Banker’s Hot Rod” moniker.
Period road tests found the Gran Sport capable of 15-second quarter mile ETs, and today this is still a surprisingly quick and amazingly competent road car.
Gorgeous restoration by marque specialist and much investment since: suspension including shocks and springs, brakes, steering, window mechanisms including power vents, clamshells, etc. etc.
Former concours winner and twice magazine feature car.
Quick & fast, tour proven, ultra reliable.
Very well appointed with A/C, deluxe interior, sports steering wheel, power trunk release, power windows including the very rare power vent windows.
Specialists tell me it is a correct Gran Sport with all the bits and pieces.
Beautiful car, must be one of the very best.
